It's a casino hotel, so I expect there will be smoking. However, they could definitely improve the atmosphere by utilizing a ventilation system that cleans the air. It would be nice if the smoke and odor of cigarettes did not reach all the way to the hotel rooms.
That said, the service at check-in was fantastic, very friendly, and quick.
The room was nice, with great decor, a comfortable bed, and great temperature control. My only disappointment was the towels. They were average at best, but definitely not what I would have expected.
And last, the resort fees!! It's been a while since I'd gone to Vegas, but why is everyone charging resort fees now? Just adjust the price to cover these "mythological" expenses and stop pretending to have super low rates. I stayed just one night with an early departure, so I certainly didn't take advantage of any "resort activities or amenities."
Overall, it is a good hotel and good value, but the little things detract from the experience.
My Unforgettable Stay at MGM Grand During the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix
I recently stayed at the MGM Grand for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, and let me tell you, it was an experience I’ll never forget. Between the high-energy atmosphere of the race and the incredible accommodations at MGM Grand, it was the perfect blend of excitement and relaxation.
Stay Well Rooms
I booked one of the Stay Well rooms, and it was the best decision. The no-smoking level made such a difference—the air felt clean and fresh, which is a rare find in Vegas. My room was spotless, comfortable, and had all these thoughtful wellness features like an air purifier and aromatherapy. After the thrill of the races, it was so nice to come back to a space designed for relaxation.
Platinum Lounge
As if the room wasn’t enough, I had access to the Platinum Lounge, and it completely elevated my stay. I loved starting my mornings there with fresh coffee and snacks before heading out to the race events. In the evenings, I’d unwind with a complimentary cocktail and reflect on the day’s excitement. The concierge team in the lounge was incredible—they helped me secure last-minute dinner reservations and made everything so effortless.
Whether I was enjoying the race or relaxing back at the MGM Grand, everything felt perfectly curated to make my trip memorable. If you’re planning a visit—whether it’s for a big event like Formula 1 or just a Vegas getaway—I can’t recommend the Stay Well rooms and Platinum Lounge enough.
Stay Well. Live Well. And experience Vegas like never before.
I attended a conference here for work this week and had a good experience. The staff that I interacted was always friendly and kind, and things seemed to be clean and well taken care of.
My room was nice, clean and in good condition. Bed and pillows were comfortable, bathroom had great water pressure and good range of hot and cold water.
There were a variety of food choices, from fast food to full dining experiences. Many of the restaurants that offer breakfast are pretty much the same thing, so the lack of variety was a little bit of a bummer, but it was at least convenient to grab on my way to the conference center.
Speaking of the conference center, it was well set up with plenty of space for the event
Like most hotels, with casinos and event centers, it can be tricky to navigate where you are going, but the signage seemed to get us where we needed to go.
The casino had plenty to offer, but didn’t seem like it filtered the air as well as some of the other casinos around. It was a little stuffy and smelled a little bit more compared to others that I have been to.
All in all, it was a pretty good experience and a good value for what we paid for our rooms.
Check in was good and the agent helped me with a higher floor room since it was my first time there. Do not open the fridge or even think about removing anything because you will get charged even if you put it right back in the fridge without drinking or eating the item. The housekeeper helped me with this, but I still had to go to the front desk to get the charges dropped. There is a resort fee per night which is typical for most resorts around the world.
Overall, it was a nice stay and close to everything on the strip.
I recently stayed at the MGM Grand Las Vegas and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The welcoming staff made a great first impression right from check-in, where they even accommodated us with an early check-in at noon when our room became available.
The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and offers an excellent location on the Strip. Our room was massive and impeccably clean, with daily maid service that kept everything in top shape. I particularly appreciated the added security measures in the evenings to access the elevators, which provided an extra sense of safety.
One minor downside was the Starbucks in the hotel, which is pricier than usual, likely due to its proximity to the convention center. However, this didn't detract much from our overall experience.
The pool area is a highlight—it's truly unreal. Even on weekends, we always found a seat without needing to reserve one, although cabanas are available if desired. The lazy river was a delightful way to unwind, adding to the resort-like atmosphere.
Overall, I loved my stay at the MGM Grand and would definitely return in the future. Highly recommended!
Nice hotel situated at the end of the strip. This hotel is huge!!! It is the third largest hotel in the entire world. The rooms were good for the price indeed. The staffs were very hospitable especially one of the managers, Ronald. Very lovely man.
The hotel is not at the centre of the Strip but don't worry as it's connected via monorail and you can buy a single trip but better to buy a 24-72 hour passes to get to everywhere if you don't want to walk so much especially in the summer time when it's super hot outside.
P.S. Prepare to smell like cigarettes but that's Vegas for you. Some casinos are better than others but the casino at MGM really does have a strong cigarette smell.
The MGM Grand Hotel offers an upscale experience, featuring a sprawling casino and luxurious rooms. Its iconic status is complemented by a diverse range of dining options and a lively atmosphere perfect for both leisure and nightlife. However, its vast size can feel overwhelming, and most amenities come with premium pricing. Avoid ATMs in the hotel since you would incur heavy charges.
Large hotel that is walking distance from the strip and other casinos. Not much of a gambler but hubby and I wanted to check out Vegas before heading back home from west coast honeymoon. Downside: No microwave, coffee or tea maker in the room. Fully stocked fridge but you'll be charged if you take any items which I get. But if I need a fridge for my own stuff you will be charged. No dinner buffet. Next time, I will book a suite at another hotel.
