The service was fantastic! We were a large group of 11 people and a service dog. The host did a great job of finding us seating at a somewhat busy time. Our server was Lauren, she was efficient, thorough, and polite! It is not the easiest to get 11 orders split into 3 different checks when over half the group is kids. She did a phenomenal job! Our food was great too. My husband and I really liked the chicken pot pie over biscuits. The flavors were good, the vegetables were soft without being mushy. It did have a little too much celery for me. But, I'm not a big celery fan.
Visited early the other morning. We were promptly seated. Staff were super nice and the atmosphere was great. The food was pretty good as well. The only complaint is that the hash browns seemed a smidge underdone and cool, everything else was great though. The service was insanely fast and the waitress amazing. Definitely a great little spot for catching breakfast before the day!
Not a bad place to eat. Good service and quick. I did not like the stringy green beans so I exchanged them for potato salad. They offer military discount. Open Monday thru Saturday 7am to 12am. Closed Sunday.
If you’re not having a big country breakfast at Mel’s - did you even visit Pigeon Forge? Great service (Thanks Ms Carrie!), delicious food, jukebox jams and fair prices. It’s a beautiful morning!
We stopped here because of all the rave reviews but we were pretty disappointed. I ordered two eggs over easy with hash browns, and the hash browns were barely cooked through. My son had pancakes and my husbands omelet was way overcooked.
The service was great, though, and the diner itself is really cool looking and clean. All of the staff were super friendly, we just didn’t care for the food, especially when compared to someplace like Waffle House for breakfast.
My first time there, fiance's second. I was impressed with how much room there was on the inside, how clean and pretty it was, the booths easily fit 4 people, aisles between tables weren't super crowded, nice experience! My fiance showed his ID when we checked out and showed them his name was also Mel and jokingly asked for a discount and the manager gave him a $4 discount, ????! Of course, since his name is Mel, we also bought a hat that says Mel's Diner on it as well! LOVED the atmosphere!
Last time I ate here was 22 years ago. Not much has changed. Great diner food. I highly recommend the reuben or the patty melt. They make a great banana split as well. Its in the central Pigeon Forge tourist area so expect a wait.
Thank you to our server Pat our drinks were never empty. He kept coming back and asked if our food was okay. As a server went above and beyond. He had such a positive attitude. Whoever yall got back in the kitchen keep em! They made my mushroom burger to perfection and those onion rings were delicious. Thank you so much for being a great spot and staying open late when other places are closing by 9 we will back!
