Best WLM Reviews

Oh wow ???? we’ve seen lines here before and now we know why…the food is jaw-dropping-good ???? it’s a fast-paced line process so be ready to order when you rock up. Fresh, hot food with wonderful spices and savory flavors. Seating is a bit limited but it looked like takeout was available and welcomed. We will definitely come back and try other dishes again!
I mean, definitely worth the hype. Hey at the minimum, dine in (don’t take out), enjoy the nice bowl of Udon for a super reasonable price. The broth is very creamy and rich. Noodles are fresh and thick. The queue might seem long but it moves very quickly, 10-15 min tops. Very good and now wanting to try the location in Vancouver to compare. Will be back.
As the other reviews have stated, the line is long. However, it is a very efficient line, especially for the length. Once you reach the front you will be ordering and your food is ready almost immediately. The tan tan is absolutely delicious. Matcha was delicious and authentic too. You can watch the noodles be made right in front of you as ordering too which was very cool.
Don't get too worried about the long line up, the line moved quickly. Good value and good food if you like noodles and tempura. Tried the 2 favorites and the second time, tried the Beef Udon. All of them were delicious.
They open at 10 AM, so go early like before noon to avoid the rush. The good thing is that the line tends to move fast even during rush hours. We tried the teriyaki rice bowl and tempura (chicken, crab, potato and fried egg). All the food was served hot and tasted good, the teriyaki sauce for dipping was the best.
There were numerous great reviews. We wanted to eat local and unique. This place didn’t disappoint. The location was an easy walk from Hilton Waikiki Village. Prices were very reasonable and the options were not too much or too little. The fried treats were a good option also. They offer small and large. Difference is amount of noodles. Small and some tempura items is more than enough. Seating is always opening up by the time you get your food so don’t worry. If there is a line it moves fast.
Marugame is casual restaurant specializing in authentic Japanese udon noodles. It’s one of the few places I came across in Waikiki with good food at a good price. Because the restaurant is set up in a cafeteria format, where you order and grab your items at the counter, the service is fast and efficient.
I ordered the Nikutama Udon, zucchini and shrimp tempura, and veggie dumplings, and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The broth was rich in umami, the noodles had a good chewy texture, and the tempura were crispy.
If you want to avoid waiting in longs lines, because there is usually one here, I would recommend going outside your standard peak meal time hours (11am -1pm, and 6pm-8pm). The restaurant has some vegetarian options, and is wheelchair accessible.
This place is seriously like a slice of heaven. We passed this restaurant several times before finally giving it a try. There was always a long line. We understood exactly why once we stepped foot inside and of course once we tasted our food. The staff was very welcoming and was patient of our questions but not many questions were needed. We got the Nikutamu Udon which is one of the top requested meals. It was full of flavor umami and slightly sweet with a seasoned egg, crunchier, shaved beef, and scallions it was SO good! We added on some tempura shrimp, squid, crab, and chicken. Fried to perfection! Once again everything was SO good! It was a large portion and very well priced seeing as how every where else was SO expensive.
