That mall is a lot of fun. I wish I had more time to walk around it. I liked the stores that they had and it is really pleasant to walk around. Except for when I went into a games store and I think someone crop dusted it. It would be a lot of fun to bring my kids back here. Parking is free and abundant.
Mall of America is a must-visit destination! It’s a massive mall with everything you could possibly need under one roof—an incredible variety of stores, all sorts of restaurants to suit every taste, and endless fun attractions. Whether you’re shopping, dining, or just exploring, there’s always something exciting to do. Perfect for families, friends, or even solo adventures. It’s more than just a mall—it’s an experience!
The mall of America is low-key awesome! Even if you don’t like malls, this is a really fun place to come. It is not overwhelming like malls a quarter of the size can be because it’s so well laid out. The selection of stores they offer has gone downhill, but the funnest part is the amusement park right in the middle of the mall. The roller coasters and carnival games are fun to do but our all-time favorite is the flyover America experience. It brought a tear to my eye and it was fun for all ages. We took an Uber there from our hotel downtown, which was easy because we didn’t have to deal with parking but even if you did, you could get your steps in. It is free. We could’ve spent more than the three hours we spent there but honestly three hours was enough.
We were so happy to find out that they have a locker room where you can put even larger luggage which is really cool. Each suitcase was about $14 to store and then we got another small locker to put our jackets and backpacks in. This made it so we could visit here right after the airport or before/after check in the hotel.
No sales tax in Minnesota woo hoo!
Mall of America has always been on the bucket list for a long time and finally it's been checked off.
I love the idea of Theme Park in the middle of the mall and shops designed around.
Approximately 500 retail shops.
2.8 million square ft of retail space
5 miles of walking area
We ended up walking approximately 8 miles and 19,000 steps inside the mall from 10am till 9pm in a single day exploring only.
You need at least 2 days, one to explore and another to shop conservatively.
Highly recommended
Great place for shopping and fun activities for all ages! Besides the indoor amusement park, aquarium, and multiple places to eat...the Museum of Illusion was very cool to experience! Staff was wonderful and the whole place is very interactive and overall a fun time. Would absolutely recommend going to this mall at least once in your life just to experience a little bit of everything.
We were visiting Minneapolis and made time to wander the Mall of America. We enjoyed the carnival rides - especially the Orange Streak roller coaster.
There were lots of options to choose from for dinner. We tried a Italian /Mac N cheese noodle place. It was a typical " ready to assemble, quick heat and serve" food - I don't feel a desire to go back to the restaurant to eat there again.

The mall offers ample complimentary parking spaces conveniently located around its perimeter.
In addition to the hundreds of stores within the mall, there are numerous activities and attractions to enjoy.
Although we only had time to visit a few stores, the children spent the majority of their time at Nickelodeon Universe, an indoor amusement park that offers a variety of rides suitable for children of all ages.
The cost per person for rides ranges from approximately 3 to 6 credits. For 18 credits, we paid approximately $23. Alternatively, all-day wristbands can be purchased for $53 per person, providing unlimited access to rides for the entire day. Please refer to the attached photographs for pricing details.
The restrooms were well-maintained and clean.
We hope you have an enjoyable visit. ????
Visited this mall while staying in nearby Minneapolis. Before you go, be sure to put on your walking shoes as this place is huge. There are 3-4 floors, depending on where you are in the mall. There are many shops and restaurants throughout the mall. Many of the stores appear multiple times in the mall on different floors, which I am sure is strategic to save some shoppers from the foot traffic they would incur otherwise.
In addition to the shops and restaurants, the mall provides other attractions as well. There is a theme park centrally located in the mall, there is an aquarium, The Fair on 4, a theater, The Crayola Experience, and escape rooms. There are an abundance of restaurants and food stores located throughout the mall, some being national chains and others being local. They all provide a good mix and variety of food choices.
There was plenty of parking available and we had no trouble finding a spot. There was a bit of a walk to the mall but it was not bad. It is located just off of Interstate 494 so it is easy to access. During my trip, it was not too crowded and overall traffic was not bad but I am sure this changes during peak seasons.
Overall it was a great experience. Yes, it is just a mall but it offers a lot of things that most malls elsewhere simply do not and I would recommend at least visiting if you are in the area.
