We ordered the Brisket bowl with half Olena rice and half salad and the Pork Belly Adobo Banh Mi with Truffle Fries. Food was soo dang yuuuumsss! Rose was super friendly and awesome. The brisket was melt in your mouth buttery yummy-ness. ???? Pork belly too! Just wish there was a little bit more pork belly in my Banh Mi. ???? Everything was great. Filipino Lemonade was so freshing and delicious. We also had the banana poi bread too (not pictured) and it is soo sooo moist and flavorful. Definitely recommend this place!!
This is the BEST brisket bbq and beef stew on the island. Banh mi was also phenomenal. Every single drink we had was not only beautiful but also so delicious and fresh! The owner, Rose, is such a gem. Indulged us with so many samples— I loved everything she let us try! We’ll be back very soon????
Tucked away in an inauspicious food court, OlenaHi is worth the Uber trip. The food, which blurs the lines between various Asian cuisines, is masterfully prepared with so much care and thought. The pork belly Adobo Ban Mi brought back memories of my Lola’s traditional adobo but with a fresh, elevated presentation. The hostess / co-owner sat and talked story with us, making us feel like long time patrons, despite this being our first time here. It definitely won’t be our last. Can’t recommend it more.
Had the Royal Filipino Lemonade with Pineapple and Calamansi infused butterfly pea. Flavorful and refreshing without being overly sweet.
I got the Mahi Mahi fried fish and chips. Wow didn't even need the Tartar sauce to consume.
Fiancé had the adobe pork bowl with Olen'a rice. Pork belly was juicy and tender and the red onions paired nicely with their vinegar. Olen'a rice was amazing ????. Chef did an amazing job in this side as well. Hints of Tumeric in color as well as flavor was present but not strong. The Coconut milk helped with that but cinnamon helped combine the flavors into a distinct taste. Mahalo.
We had the fish and chips and the brisket. The brisket was absolutely amazing. The flavors were complex in the meat was very tender. The fish and chips were delicious. There was nothing left on our plate afterwards.
We enjoyed the pineapple tea and that was very refreshing as well. We finished it off with a delicious, soft peanut butter cookie. This may look like a cafeteria, but this food is high-end restaurant quality.
WOW by far the best food we had in Hawaii, so much so we had to order 2nd rounds!
The brisket was out of this world. The pork belly is perfectly crisped and flavorful. The bread on the sandwhich was perfect - soft, but crispy on the outside. The lemonade was wonderfully refreshing— tart and not too sweet with small pieces of pineapple. Topped it all off with banana nut bread!!
Must have!! The cherry on top was the very friendly, kind, helpful service :)
Wow I was not expecting such fabulous food at the dinky Dole Cannery. The pork bahn mi sandwich I had here was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, loaded with a delicious combination of fresh, crisp veggies. Today on my second visit there I also picked up some baked goods to bring home to the family, who loved everything. The owner Rose is warm and wonderful - I want to go back just to see her again because I know she’ll put me in a good mood!
I looked up ‘good food by the airport’ and this place came up. I’m sort of disappointed they disrespected this restaurant with ‘good’… this place is GREAT, AMAZING, WORTH A TRIP TO HAWAII FOR! Ha! The food was fresh, super tasty and the service was phenomenal. Rose was so sweet… sharing her opinion about what we would like and even ran to the car to check to see if we liked it, give us a ‘palate cleansing tea’ and a chocolate chip ‘cookie for your flight’. Our ‘fish and chips’ was made with mahi mahi which tasted like it was swimming in the ocean this morning… bbq brisket bowl was delectable, sweet, tangy, melted in our mouth… everything was delicious down to the pineapple Cole slaw they put on top as a ‘garnish’. We also had. ‘Filipino lemonade’ made with Calamansi!!! If you want really really tasty Hawaiian/asian fusion without the frills - COME HERE! I’ve done Michelin stars when necessary but for me it’s the ‘hole in the wall’ ‘slap yo momma’ meals I prefer. I told my agent who took my bags and showed her pictures - she said she was going while on her break! Hahahah
