Love eating here. Authentic Cuban restaurant.
They have nightly specials. But also have ala carte menu.
Always great as they can accommodate big parties. We called 30 mins before we showed up on Friday night at 7 pm. They were able to sit 16 of us.
Service is pretty quick. Food is tasteful. Ropa vieja is delicious and it came with two dishes- bean soup is great. Make room for dessert and coffee.
They also have a bakery and cafe section.
Very good Spanish food.
Everything was very well made.
The beef stew was tasty. Very tender beef.
The roast pork was also tender and flavorful.
The sides were yummy. No complaints except the rice was a little underwhelming. Over a good place for some Spanish food.
I didn’t know this place was so close to the stadium so if its football day, know that plenty folks pregame lunch here. The food was amazing. The garlic shrimp was the best I’ve ever had! It definitely gives local Havana flavor and feel. If you in the area and looking for authentic Cuban food, this is it. I was too full to have dinner at Colombia after eating here.
I had a great fish sandwich. The sauce and the fish tasted really good. We had cuban coffee, it was so good and the milk in the coffee tastes great. The only issue is the cafe side was not very clean, the chairs were dirty , the floors were not wiped and didn’t give a super tidy vibe. But the servant was super nice, he brought me everything in a plastic bag and was very attentive.
Being from NJ, @lateresitarestaurant reminds me of a diner, but just for Cuban dishes. They have an old-school vibe where your waiter is finely dressed in a white shirt with black pants and an apron. They even serve you complementary buttered bread to start your meal! Who does that anymore?
I feel like when you go to a Spanish restaurant and one of the first things they ask is "habla Español" that your food is going to be good!
We had a really good meal here! I'd say it's very simple, traditional dishes done well and at extremely reasonable price points. Most specials and dishes are priced $12.95 and under. I recommend visiting La Teresita's web page and reading their origin story. It's a true example of the American Dream. Thanks for the good hearty meal!
This is hands down the best Cuban food I've ever had in the Tampa area. Every bite took me back to my childhood, and I know my Cuban grandmother would have been proud. The flavors are authentic, rich, and truly capture the essence of traditional Cuban cuisine. If you're looking for a taste of Cuba that feels like home, this is the place. GRACIAS. ???????? ♥️
My friend took me here for lunch. Food is well priced and the beef entrees were very good. We got the ribeye steak plate and carne asada Pot Roast and they both were seasoned well and tender. The yellow rice is very good and yucca fries. Service was good. Ambiance is casual diner vibes.
La Teresita/Capedevila’s never disappoints and has always been consistent with the excellent quality of their food, the very best prices of any other Cuban restaurant in the area, and really nice service. We were seated at 6:30pm, I had my heart set on ordering the tasajo dinner and was disappointed when told they had run out especially so early, so I opted for the filete salteado instead, we also ordered the yellow rice and chicken, and bistec de palomilla which were all delicious and delivered to our table without a long wait. The atmosphere is nice, very clean, and welcoming, which is why I always come back.
However tonight the patrons were very very loud, and then, there were 2 people at 2 separate tables doing what I consider “rude, disruptive, and one of my biggest pet peeves in a restaurant environment” I’m sure many if everyone would agree on this one. Having a conversation on their phones, via video chat, on loud speaker, max volume! Both were on calls to friends or family in Cuba, and I know this because I’m Cuban, and could understand/hear everything being said, as I’m sure the entire restaurant could! I didn’t say anything, I would never be a Karen, but I do think a member of the staff should have come forward, and politely said something about this. Talking on a cellphone on loud speaker is very disruptive, and just plain obnoxious. I’m not sure why people think it’s acceptable to do this, I really don’t! I’m not faulting the restaurant, however, it would’ve been nice if a staff member would have come forward and said something, don’t you think?
This is not going to stop me from coming back, I really enjoy having lunch or dinner at La Teresita, my only suggestion is, please don’t allow people to do this, politely ask them to stop, it’s disruptive, rude, and not cool at all, put up a sign in both English and Spanish if you have to, but for the comfort of all your patrons it’s not much to ask. I’m probably the only one tonight saying something about this but rest assured I wasn’t the only one bothered, I overheard other patrons around my table talking about it amongst each other expressing their feelings about it.
Aside from these 2 incidents tonight, everything else was as excellent as usual. Thank you for taking this into consideration and I hope it can be addressed so all your guests can experience a more comfortable dining atmosphere in the future.
