Upon arrival, bathroom was not clean. Toilet and sink were dirty, full of hair and dry urine. Floors sticky. Carpet not fully vacuum. Lastly, the construction was a nuisance, not just "we may experience some noise". It was overwhelming and unbearable. We departed 1 day early as a result. I recommend Golden Nugget.
Came to relax & eat -- goal accomplished. L'Auberge features multiple dining options, a huge outdoor pool are with a lazy river, and incredible views of the river & bridge.
My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The soaps provided were sensitive on my skin and smelled great.
The freshly made desserts at the pantry are out of the world! Everything we tried in was exquisite. The $11 breakfast plate is a lot of delicious food. The $11 Philly Cheesesteaks and meatball subs were fantastic, too.
We met the Captain of the casino ship, and he answered many questions about the history and construction of the casino. Every employee was professional, personable, and friendly.
Highly recommended for food, lodging, and fun times.
First, I would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at the casino. In every area, the staff is very caring and goes the extra mile to help you. I fell in the bathroom and the staff was nice and helpful to me. They took excellent care of me. I felt safe being there alone and injured. I’ve been back since then, and the staff is still wonderful. My brother passed away in December. So driving to Lake Charles and staying to myself, I feel connected to him. This casino provides a safe environment with great rooms, good restaurants, and some slots that plays at times. I highly recommend it for single women and mothers.
The hotel rooms were very comfortable. The beds and pillows were great. The lazy river area outside was very inviting in warm weather. Floating the river or using the swim up bar was very nice. The negatives of this hotel/casino is the very loud music in the casino and the lack of heating areas. But the casino is close to another casino that was much more quiet.
I came for my honeymoon. The casinos are fun. The staff is very friendly. The room is spotless. The pillows are very comfortable. The only problem I have with my stay is I got food poisoning at the sportbook I had steak with some grilled shrimp and veggies. They brought me garlic, mashed potatoes and it literally made me so sick. I’ve been throwing up uncontrollably and having to go to the bathroom at the same time is the worst way to spend my honeymoon disappointed that only had two restaurants to choose from.
My sister was coming into town and staying at Lauberge so my other sister and I make it a point to go here to meet her for a fun time. I arrived and self parked in the parking garage - no problem - then joined my sisters on the. Amino floor - such a great time playing the slots together while visiting and catching up. It was a great night and we won a little money too.
I want to start by saying we were here two years ago and had the same opinions then. The grounds, lobby, casino, and restaurants are very nicely taken care of. Their attention to detail stops at the elevators, though. Once we got to our room, we were pretty disappointed. The air in the room stayed humid and damp the entire time, even with using the air conditioner. There were cobwebs on the windows and dust on the walls. The bathroom floor had not been cleaned before our check in. On our previous visit (2 years ago) the headboard had been peeling and falling apart. Their “fix” for this was an ill-fitting slipcover that looked worse than the original headboard. Our first morning, we woke up hearing voices coming through the AC vents. Our second morning, there was literal jackhammering happening either below or above us at 8am. I can’t imagine why someone would pay for a room here. They really need to pay attention to these things.
I’ve been to L’ACR several times throughout the years. I always have a good time. The casino is pretty and the space is clean. The staff are all very friendly and the drink service is fast. They have several dining options available. I don’t eat large meals at casinos because I want to get back to the slots, so I can’t comment much on the restaurants. I opted for a chicken salad sandwich in a small bakery/store. See review to follow. The decor in this casino is more upscale. I liken it to Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS. Both are beautifully arranged. Slots aren’t very loose here, but I still had a good time.
