My wife & I brought our 2 kids (5 & 2) here & we enjoyed it. We stayed in the sands so it was a bit of walking but with the skywalks it was fine. The steak & mashed potatoes at Double Cut were amazing and so worth the high price. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet option. We enjoyed the indoor water park and the options for kids of different sizes. We enjoyed Tom Foolery's and the guard, Nate, was super helpful so my daughter and I had a great experience as we were trying to navigate the ticket trade in process. I would've been a nice bonus if our wrist bands gave us access to more free ride options. Rooms: They were a little less than I was expecting given the cost (at that price point, it would've been nice to have a separate bedroom or a better bathroom or better view or location) & at one point we had a noisy person in the room above us and I'm uncertain whether security ever checked after we called. I would stay again for sure, but I'd like to find a cheaper time period. We stayed the last week of March 2024.
My wife's thoughts were:
Breakfast buffet, awesome, double cut delicious. Indoor water park had something for every one in our family. Arcade had great selection of games and loved the little kid carnival rides. Room was super basic for the cost of it but we did get entry to water park and Tom Foolery for the cost.
We are in the sands building with a room with a kitchen and balcony. It's nice having the option to be able to play in a pool that's smaller and less crowded. Rooms are nice and they have a number to text if anything is needed. Check-in was easy and the add on to Tom Foolery was well worth it. Everything is connected through the Skywalk. Parking lot is being redone in some spots, for finding parking for our building is a challenge after 4pm, but that's OK. A little walking is healthy. I was able to pay for our entire stay at checkin so I don't have to worry about anything the rest of the trip. Trip to the wildlife park and the Tommy's science museum were complimentary with our stay as well. The kids are having a great time and we are having a great time. So it's a win for everyone.
They did alot of renovations and made this place pretty modern now since i last visited. More restaurants, game room was updated, and bars. Definitely coming back. Was a great 4 day get away. MAKE SURE YOU ASK ABOUT THE FREE ENTRY TO OTHER PARKS!! We didn’t know with our bracelet we get in to other places for free/ or with a big discount!
We have been to the resort multiple times over the years. Service this spring break was unacceptable...
1. Room wasn't cleaned until 3-4pm when we got back from the water park, so we had to search for the cleaning crew to get new/fresh towels. We went to the adventure park after and dinner, didn't get back to the room until 10pm and room looked same as we left it in the morning.
2. We enjoyed the new restaurants they opened up but service was horrible EVERYWHERE, it's like no one cares since the resort is booked, many people drop in with daily passes.... and they know they have a flow of people anyway, so why bother keeping up any sort of standard?
Those were the main top 2 annoying things.
3. Water park opens up way before the 10 am time they have on their website, we stayed there 4 days and the very first day we walked in at 9:59am and all tables/chairs were already taken up. So we learned our lesson and started going in between 9:30-10:00 even though when I spoke with the resort they claim they open at 10am. This might be true for people dropping in for the day l, but if you are staying at the resort they open their water park doors earlier. Anyway by day 2 we started going earlier and managed to get a table+chairs to sit at and keep our belongings there.
Overall we had fun, kids had a blast, if management fixes the things listed above it will definitely make people's experiences much enjoyed. Those type of things tend to be frustrating and not so much 'enjoyable'.
My son went there as a field trip for a reward as safety patrol. He said he had a blast at the indoor waterpark. The slides were fun, pools, and the pizza and soda were also delicious. Thank you Kalahari for my son and his friends at safety patrol visit this great waterpark.
Normally it's great experience here but this time not so much. My wife reserved a certain room and when we went to check in they gave the room to someone else "who paid more" . Kinda set the tone for our get away on a sour note. It was a busy weekend so options were limited for something comparable
Our room was impeccably clean and well supplied. The beds were very comfortable. There are plenty of places to dine on the premises. Military discount available. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nothing in the Poconos compares regarding hotel accommodations and, best of all, a sensational waterpark is included. From now on, for family fun, Kalahari Poconos will definitely be our go to place.
We took our daughter here for spring break and we had a blast as a family. The room was perfect with 2 queen sized beds, bathroom and a patio. The indoor water park was great especially because it was snowing lol. Although, I recommend going on at least one weekday as the weekends are extremely packed. Other than that, it was a blast! The indoor theme park was a welcomed change of pace from the water park. We had so much fun and there are many games/rides to do as a family and there are a lot of options for food in the resort or just outside of the resort. We had a great spring break!! Definitely worth it and will be doing it again!
