The hotel is massive and beautiful! You really need to stay two days to be able to enjoy everything it has to offer. The one thing I wish I knew before I went was it was all cashless. Nothing in the hotel or water park area takes cash. But the food was great and the water park inside and outside was beautiful. The kids loved the arcade. You will do lot of walking make sure you have comfy shoes.
Great place to take your family. The concierge Debbie was so nice. She makes you feel right at home. And makes you want to keep coming back. Our family have been their Dozens of times. It’s like an oasis, and an absolute Blast!
Almost half of the rides were shut down during our visit. Staff kept closing slides without an update when they will reopen.
My 8-year-old daughter dared for the first time to go on an outside slide "DROP" that you have to step in the tube and got stuck! For good 15 minutes!! Door wouldn't open or slide wouldn't drop my daughter down, so horrifying. Those lifeguards did not do anything, just kept paging each other. Thanks, goodness, for my man, he squeezed his fingers between the door and unlocked the latch. We didn't even get "sorry" from staff.
Wave pool was very crowded and greasy.
The hotel room was clean, just no towels in the bathroom. Food was good. Have been coming at least 1-2 times a year and the place gotten a bit worse. Must open all rides!!! That's why people go there. And fix it!
Myself and my child were mocked and harassed by teenagers. We all were having a great trip. As we were walking through to go to our elevator a group of teens mocked myself and my child. We were walking minding our business. It seemed as if the teens were trying to be intimidating and just plain mean to everyone. Making fun of the shirt I was wearing, my child. It was extremely uncomfortable. Wondering were is a parent or guardian? It made me feel unsafe.
Love that they went digital with their check in process. So convenient to have the wrist bands charge to your room so that you don't have to carry money around the park. The room was very clean. We love the dessert/candy store & the breakfast buffet. Valet needs to be more organized. I suggest they try to digitize the process as well. But no complaints. We had a wonderful time!
Always a wonderful time at the Kalahari! Other than some of the inconsiderate and immature “adults“ (which I can’t place the blame on the Kalahari), it’s always a nice time. The kids have a great time on the different waterslides and variety of water activities and pools. There are also lots of little areas for adults to enjoy themselves as well.
The only thing I will point out is that they need to do a better job of making sure that the people in the 21 and older area of the hot tub are actually of age. I saw way too many kids coming back there and linger for a bit. Wow there is a security guard that pops in, they seem to do a quick lap and exit! Instead of walking around the children on your way out of the exit, maybe scoot them along next time. ????
Stayed here twice for 2 colossalcon weekends and have always enjoyed myself. Staff is super friendly, prices are reasonable when you stay at the resort. Park quality is decent too. Only area for improvement is more food options, other than that great place to go to.
Water Park is pricey but absolutely worth it for a full day of thrills and fun for the entire family! The massive indoor water park has slides and attractions galore to keep everyone entertained. From the exhilarating water coasters to the relaxing lazy river, there's something for all ages. Yes, it's an investment, but the non-stop smiles and laughter make it a worthwhile splurge. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny, but you'll leave with priceless memories of an amazing time together.
