We absolutely love it here! The arcade and all the extra experiences with it are so much fun. The water park is great for all ages. The food is good but expensive. That's where we spent most of our money. You can always order food from a delivery service to keep costs down instead of eating there. Overall such a fun little getaway
My family truly enjoyed our weekend stay here. The attractions were truly exceptional. Everything else was not. The food wasn't anything to get excited about. Especially for the price. The room we stayed in was stocked well, but the floor was sticky and dirty. (The non-complimentary items left in your room is a toss in your face for the price you pay.)
My only issue was with two teenage lifeguards whom are supposed to be highly trained and highly vigilant. My daughter came down a slide and both boys acknowledged her and failed to assist her as she hopped off and temporarily fought to not get trapped by the safety net. I had to jump in and do their job for them. Thankfully that was the second to last ride and we were getting ready to leave.
I'm very thankful for the experience, but for the price. I doubt we'll return.
3 families with children ranging in ages from 8-11 went for an overnight trip. Check in had an hour long line despite having both clerks and self check in kiosks. Our two room suite was clean and well appointed. Although it was a long walk from the lobby.
The park was super fun! Lots of different slides that all ages can enjoy. Lots of steps to the top though!
There were lots of food options with reasonable prices ( by NY standards).
Overall a really fun time. Only caveat is that there is a lot of walking and stair climbing, so I would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues.
Amazing! 12-13 year olds for a birthday. Stayed in the presidential suite, cabana first day, early check in/late check out, and the kids are having the time of their lives! Fun, clean, and great service! The kids said that the variety of water slides was better than other water parks and the people who work here are what made their experience so positive. The food was excellent for “amusement park” style setting. There were minor glitches at check in but nothing that was a big issue, and happen at any large amusement park setting. ALL 7 kids want to come back and have nothing negative to say about their experience. Love it here!
We went on a family vacation and we enjoyed our stay at the Kalahari resorts/conventions. Our room was clean, the beds and the bathroom as well. you can tell that the resort room are clean because they keep the place clean and as well the place. love being able to trust a place i can stay with my family, were i don't have to worry about taking home bug or etc. hopefully the people that go there and stay, keep the place clean. The staff/workers are super friendly. The food is okay. They let you borrow towels but you have to return them or you get charged $30 dollars. One thing i didn't like is that there were older women/girls wearing inappropriate bikini/swim suits, this is a kid friendly resort not a strip club resort!!! Hershey park are strict with what one wear especially if it is inappropriate, so please Kalahari do the same. Other than that my family loved the resort and the stay.
Great experience at Kalahari. We went for four days with the kids and had the pleasure of being in a 2 bedroom suite (2 bathrooms are key with kids). It was not as busy as other water parks, prices were fair and service was top notch. Lots of food and entertainment aside from the water park itself. We lucked out with amazing weather so the play park outdoors was perfect to get fresh air. Lots of options in the water park itself and the wrist bands were perfect for not having to bring any valuables with us. Towel service was helpful and we didn't have to wait in line for anything except food at lunch. The breakfast buffet is worth the money, but lunches are a great excuse to go explore the local restaurants. We loved it and will return!
Reserved 2 rooms and when reservation was made they said they could put our rooms close at least on the same floor. When we got there they had gave us rooms in 2 separate towers and different levels. After an hour of waiting they did give us rooms in the same tower and somewhat close but acted like it was a big hassle to accommodate. Then they have complimentary towel service for the water park and you check the towels out then check them back in so you are not charged a $30 fee per towel. We checked out 9 towels and when returning them they only checked back in 2 towels and said 7 were outstanding after several calls and being transferred to different departments I finally was not charged $210 for the towels. It took a day to take care of this. Which being on vacation was a big inconvenience as had to deal with the extra charges because of their mistake. Food at the Italian restaurant there was not good. Tasted like pizza was frozen and heated. Pasta dishes were mush and prices were outrageous. Shop employees were very pleasant and accommodating. Rooms were clean but showering was standing in about 2 inches of water as the drainage was poor. The location was off to it's self and beautiful view. A lot of walking to get to where you want to be.
We stayed in a standard queens room. It was very basic. Wished it had more drawers and a coffee table. Room amenities are standard, nothing unique except for drinks and snacks that were available for a fee.
It seems that the waterpark had more rides than Great Wolf Lodge. However, my kids said the rides at Great Wolf were more fun. Kalahari rides were one shot excitement and then it's over, versus the rides at Great Wolf were exciting from beginning to end. Regardless, we had a nice time.
This was our first time. We will go back again!
