Best WLM Reviews
Like many other reviews mention, there are a few things to know before you visit Joe T. Garcia's. First: They are walk-in only and do not take advanced reservations unless you're booking a special event. This means you will have to wait in line during busy times. Second: The menu is limited to mostly nachos, tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas. Go to their website to find out why. This means you will be eating nachos, tacos, fajitas or enchiladas if you come here. Third: They accept cash ONLY. As long as you're good with all of that, this is a wonderful restaurant with a spectacular ambiance and excellent service. The food portions are big (1 order of fajitas can feed 2 people) and the staff are very friendly. You can choose indoor or outdoor seating, but I recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. If you're looking for good Mexican food and are okay with the above parameters, this is worth checking out!
This place is absolutely amazing. It has the most beautiful outdoor seating area.
The food is really good and they give very large portions too. The only drawback is that it is CASH ONLY. They do not accept debit or credit cards.
It is first come first serve so there is always an extremely long line of people waiting to sit outside. Sometimes 2 hour wait. But the atmosphere is worth every penny.
Amazing outdoor ambiance! It feels like you are in a luxury resort. They don’t take reservations so you would need to stand In a line waiting minimum 25 to 30 mins. They have two lines, one for Indoor seating and another for Outdoor seating.
They have fans and coolers outside with chilled water bottles as complimentary and if needed you can go inside and buy their famous house margarita picture and bring it outside while waiting in the queue.
The ambiance is top notch and highly recommended. Food wise, it was good but not that great!
Iconic Mexican Restaurant since 1935
Located just north of the Ft Worth Stockyards.
The family started out cooking and serving their recipes in their home.
Today , you can enter the front of the house and it leads to a huge dining facility.
The courtyard and the entire back and side of the property has been transformed into a lush forest .
Multiple seating areas surrounded by columns, fountains, gardens, and tables create an outdoor oasis.
The paths and walkways meander through archways with trees, plants, and beautiful stonework.
Whether you dine in or on the patios
the service is outstanding.
The menu is simple with only a few choices.Don't be fooled. Everything offered is prepared well and ample servings.
The enchiladas with rice , beans, tacos, and nachos were terrific.
The bar options are varied and easy access to multiple bars throughout the property.
They can handle huge parties with ease.
Whatever event you are celebrating, this is a location designed to accommodate.
I’ve been coming here for decades and never been disappointed.
Remember it’s All cash but ATM’s are there.
Celebrities frequently dine here If you like people watching.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
The family is hands on and making sure you are enjoying yourself.
We have been wanting to try this place for a while but the line was always too long. We arrived to discover that there was a private event occurring and that they wait to sit outside was over an hour. But they could seat us inside within ten minutes. Slightly disappointed, we chose to sit inside.
We ordered and received our drinks fairly quickly. We ordered our food and had to wait a considerable amount of time. Fair, as it was a Saturday night. But the margarita that was ordered tasted like it was out of a machine.
The chips were a bit stale and the salsa was only mild.
There were not many items on the menu to order from. We ordered steak and chicken fajita. The chicken was good but the steak, not so much.
The outside area is beautiful, but the food is just ok and very overpriced. We will not return and I would not recommend this place to authentic Mexican food lovers.
Great stop when in Fort Worth near The Stockyards. Iconic Tex-Mex restaurant. Very popular and wait is extreme for dinner most nights, especially weekends. Worth the wait. Fun atmosphere with wonderful outdoor garden seating. Seats for hundreds. Lots of parking around venue. Food is good. Big portions of salsa with crispy thicker chips. Big portions from a smaller menu. Outdoor bars. Service is friendly and quick. Bathrooms are very small for the size of the restaurant. A great spot to try if you’ve never been.
Have wanted to try this place for the longest time. Finally got a night free and decided to try it……
Walking up, we got there right at 5 so there wasn’t a long line so that was cool. It’s 73 degrees and clear skies so a perfect night to be outside and talk about breathtaking. Light wrapped trees, wonderful vibe, only thing missing was some soft playing mariachi music.
Was seated right away. Most all tables are made for large parties so it was a little overwhelming with such a large table but at lease we weren’t fumbling over each other when the food came out.
Ordered fajita nachos and combo fajitas.
Nachos came out first as an appetizer. Piled meat, yellow cheese, bell peppers, onions, refried beans. Presentation was good but that’s all. Meat was incredibly dry and hardly no chips.
Fajitas came out next. Tortillas were not fresh but there were hot. The meat, beans and rice all came out in the skillet. A little strange but ok.
Should not have expected more after eating, or trying to eat, the nachos. Meat was dry and steak was tasteless. Chicken tasted like dry chicken breast. Chicken tacos should be thighs. Better taste and juicy.
Margaritas were strong but a little sour.
Vibe is amazing but likely will never return. For the price all the meat should not be so dry.
We had a party of 25 and a party room right off the outside patio, it was perfect! Air conditioned, and just the right size for our group. Our servers Samantha was beyond outstanding and we had a wonderful birthday celebration for our mom.
Every single item we had was incredible and delicious. Fresh hot and delightful.
On the outside patio of the grounds are just like walking into a tropical garden. It is truly a iconic place. I met a groundskeeper, Jesus, who was just a beautiful guy talk too and he’s been working here for 33 years! I can’t recommend this place more highly!
