Best WLM Reviews

I really wanted to leave a positive review because of all the praise this place receives, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the hype. While I gave the atmosphere a 3, everything else deserves zero stars.
We visited the night before Thanksgiving around 10:45 PM. Although it was late, it wasn’t close to closing time—the website indicated they were open until midnight. There were a few people ahead of us, but from the moment we walked in, it felt like we didn’t belong.
The woman adding toppings to the sandwiches gave us dirty looks, which made us uncomfortable, and one of the gentlemen working there looked me up and down as if I owed him something. We were simply trying to enjoy a rare family night together.
To make matters worse, the sandwich itself was disappointing—flavorless and minced in a way that wasn’t enjoyable. The only bright spot was the man on the grill, who was in good spirits and seemed to genuinely care about his work. Thank you to him!
I hope management sees this and takes action to address these issues, as we left feeling stereotyped and unwelcome. I understand that it can be challenging to find good staff, but this team didn’t leave a good impression. Unfortunately, we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.
Classic Philly Steaks without the tourist hype. Great service, read the menu, wait in line like everybody else, be ready to order on your turn. Cash only.
Totally remodeled after the fire and still the same but better.. And with more seating with the addition of the former mosaic works next door. Art while you dine!
I was extremely disappointed in the taste of the Philly Cheesesteak. It was meaty tasting with no seasoning taste. I’ve honestly cooked better Cheesesteaks. The atmosphere is pretty cool and it’s nice and clean. I was just hoping for a better experience. It is cash only which is bad business for them. They would make a lot more money with a card. You can ask any business professional that. This isn’t a complaint but they are not dog friendly. We had to eat outside with our dog because we were told to leave.
The best cheese steak I've ever had! One sandwich is enormous and can be split into two perfect portions to share. This original location has fast service, clean facilities, and a great environment! A must try in Philly!
First Time back since the fire, and they did an amazing job on the rebuild! The collaboration with Magic Gardens is a great touch. The Cheese Steak was just as I remembered, absolutely delicious! Some of these reviews are crazy with the bs. Hands down best in philly! Glad they back, not the same without them
Easy to order. Line went very quick. The guys were pretty fast on the grill.
This used to be my go to place. The steak wasn’t up to its name. The bread was over toasted and the steak wasn’t as juicy as it normally is. Ordered three cheese steaks, provolone fried onions, and they were all virtually the same.
It was good but I wasn’t amazed by the flavor. It was a good portion but nothing would make me crave going back there. I found myself adding a lot of hot sauce and flavoring to the sandwich. The meat is not seasoned much by itself. The overall experience was nice though. It has a good space. The staff were friendly.
Jim's is my friend's top recommendation for cheesesteaks in Philly! I visited many years ago and remembered it being absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained, and the service is quick. Everything is cooked fresh to order, which is always a plus.
This time, I decided to switch things up and get provolone instead of Wiz, and it was a huge mistake—I’ll never do that again! I don’t recommend provolone; Cheese Wiz is the only way to go! Provolone didn’t add anything to the sandwich, and I had to add a lot of salt and pepper just for some flavor. That said, the meat was tender, and the bread was fresh. I’m sure I’ll dine here again in the future!
