Service was PHENOMENAL. Completely exceeded my expectations! The staff were all so warm & welcoming, having several stop by our table to check on us and even give us some complimentary samples! Food was also equally amazing. Loved their secret sauce too. I’m from North Dakota and this is some of the best seafood I’ve had. Will definitely be back next time I visit!
Our server Olivia was so sweet and attentive. We were seated swiftly due to their special seating offering for some aviation folks! Olivia brought out a piece of key lime pie after we paid, as we were celebrating my birthday. Tried a few apps (shrimp and grits, crawfish, corn ribs) all 10/10. Worth any wait time!
We were first time visitors here and came in because of the high reviews. The restaurant is family owned for 5 generations and you can tell they care out their business because take really good care of their customers. We went here for a Monday night dinner and we waited about 20 minutes for a table. The food portions are really big so go there hungry. We ordered the boom boom shrimp for appetizer and it was spicy and delicious. Their seafood is really fresh. One con for me was the fried food was a bit oily and filled me up real quick. But the quality of service was awesome!
The food is great and the owner was super nice. I wish he was our waiter. The waitress we had apparently just did the minimum of her job. We still tipped but were definitely not satisfied with our service. But I would definitely go back.
So this place lives up to all of the expectations set by their award winning reputation! The service is absolutly amazing, all were friendly and so helpful. The food is smack your grandma good. There is not a single thing we ordered that wasn't mouth watering. This is truly a Charleston must!!
Just ate dinner here and overall Hyman’s was pretty okay. The food was decent enough but definitely not the best seafood I’ve had in Charleston, and definitely not worth what I would consider a decently high price.
The cold shelled shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal. Everything else we had was way over salted, especially the shrimp and grits.
The moonshine margaritas we had were really good though, really recommend getting the moonshine flight.
Service was really good, no complaints there.
Overall, not quite sure what the hype is about this place. It’s a decent restaurant but tourists seem to flock to it even though it’s not the best seafood in the area.
Emily was absolutely fantastic. We came here on a whim and had THE BEST TIME!! Highly recommend the Chilean Seabass Carolina delight appetizer and hush puppies! We also love the elevate conversation cards located in the center of the table for a few good laughs. 10 out of 10.
We visited here on the weekend. The wait time was around 1:15 minutes, which isn't too bad for a popular spot on the weekend. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. They were quick to get us seated and took our orders efficiently. The menu had a great selection of fresh seafood dishes. I ended up getting sea bass croquettes and
it was absolutely delicious - the fish was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was spot on.
What really stood out was how friendly and personable the owner was. He came by our table to check in and chat. You could tell he took pride in the restaurant and wanted to make sure everyone was having a great experience. Overall, I'd highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for some really great, fresh seafood. The wait can be a bit long on the weekends, but it's worth it for the food quality and welcoming atmosphere.
