My boyfriend decided to treat me to a midweek trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my birthday. Where I have been to Vegas once before this time has changed my view on Vegas completely. The Grand Prix being held at the end of November was not mentioned when booking our room ( I do love racing). Which made it to where you are not able to access your vehicle out of the parking garage or into the parking garage at certain times for 12 hour spans. Half the strip was not walkable due to the event happening so when we went to return to our hotel we had to park in a resort parking lot that was not ours, were we had to pay to park. Then walk over a mile in the cold to our resort on the other side of the strip which again half the strip was blocked off so you had to walk back to access catwalks. Aside that not being their fault the horseshoe is not hosting the event Las Vegas is. So I understand the not having control over the parking garage and road accesses. A fair warning would have been nice instead we received a letter the night that we walked back stating that we would not have access to our parking garage, which by then we had figured out ! The morning before would have been nice to know so we could have planned to walk in the cold, where during the day it is 65° but at night it is almost freezing. The hotel front desk agents seemed less than happy to work there or to serve you. The jacuzzi tubs that were once in the presidential suites have been replaced with garden tubs and there was no pool access due to season. I don't understand how these billion dollar casinos can't heat pools but rich people in suburban neighborhoods have heated pools. So all in all the trip was pretty much a bust.
When I made my reservation online through the Caesars website, I didn’t receive any information about parking or directions to the hotel. After parking, it’s quite a long walk to reach your room. You have to carry your luggage through the casino area to find the elevators, and there aren’t any clear signs to help you get to the check-in area. Honestly, if this were an airport, I think many travelers would miss their flights! Also, I want to mention that the fountain view rooms feel like a scam. They offer them as an upgrade when you arrive, but you can barely see 5% of the fountain because there’s a big tower blocking the view right in front of the building.
I stayed at the Horseshoe Las Vegas in October 2024. We experienced several rude employees, including a gentleman working the bar who informed us, in a very rude tone, that he wouldn't change the channel to a sports game we asked to watch because we "weren't gambling enough". This was very early in the morning when we took a break to have a drink. Few people were at the bar and we felt startled by the employee's response.
We also had an awkward interaction with an employee at the front desk who kept asking us to wait before she walked off without helping us.
The day we left, we had a scary interaction with a man in the casino who was offering airport rides, but wasn't a licensed taxi or ride-share driver. I'll spare the details. I'm surprised that this individual was able to do this inside the casino.
The casino is in a great location. I have no complaints about the room or cleaning service. However, we unfortunately left feeling frustrated and unsafe.
Room was great, however the hotel provides a great base room rate and then proceed to nickel and dime you so in the end it’s not the value you thought you were getting. Valet is $40 per day to park plus tip. (than we had to wait 30-40 minutes to get our car) The parking lot is $25 per day, resort fee and other fees another $50 per day. On top of the other fees I paid when booking the room. Reminded me of when I book a flight on Frontier and got a base rate and then had to pay when choosing my seat and again to add any bags.
I understand this is Las Vegas and has gotten to be a bit the Norm but still leaves a bad impression and they certainly did a great job at that. To add to all that the bartenders are not friendly at all. We sat at one bar where we were the only customers at that time and the bartender just ignored us with a mean look on his face…until I said hey and got his attention but not friendly at all like you would expect a bartender to be….he obviously didn’t want to be there so we cash out and went somewhere else. And if you want to buy a beer like an IPA expect to pay $15 as reflected on our bill, unless you’re gambling enough. The machines have green light that illuminates once you’ve played enough or lost enough money and then they’ll comp a drink. This was a bit of a surprise as we have been in multiple casinos in Las Vegas and none of them had this. Overall just wasn’t a great experience at all so I’ll be finding a more customer service oriented hotel/casino as the experience doesn’t justify the cost.
I paid for a king bed room and was placed in a two queen. When you call the front desk it appears that they have a 3rd party company screen the calls before actually getting to the front desk so I had to explain everything twice which was annoying. I called the front desk to let them know that I had used the self check in kiosk and it put me in the wrong room. I was informed that all of the king bed rooms were booked so they put me in a queen. I said well I paid for a king so I want to make sure there's not a difference in price and she said I wouldn't be charged extra. Yeah why would I be charged extra when you downgraded my room and didn't refund me the difference? I'm sure they think oh well it's two beds instead of one so it's an upgrade but we don't sleep in two beds so it's actually a downgrade. We chose the king bed because we wanted the king bed. Instead we got a queen bed. Which I think is not very cool. If they oversold the room I booked then they should have UPGRADED me free of charge. The bed was comfy at least. Something weird was happening with the water which sprayed everywhere when you turned the faucet on. It was a great location though!
Stayed here for a few days after Thanksgiving Nov 2024. I booked 2 rooms through a 3rd party online. Prices advertised were incredibly cheap, but as seems to be the case with everything on the Las Vegas Strip, the extras add-up quickly: hotel resort fees, daily parking fees, anything to eat. Nice large clean rooms with comfortable beds/pillows. The rooms did have a refrigerator. Noticeably absent: NO complimentary coffee maker/coffee, NO microwave. We called the desk and asked if we could get a microwave, answer was "no". There is NOWHERE to get a cup of coffee in the morning for under $6 without leaving the premises... and that's a SMALL cup. A bagel, a muffin, a pastry... any of these things will typically gouge you for $10 bucks or more! We ended up eating most of our meals at a McDonald's 1/2 a mile away, just to avoid feeling raped! Overall, the hotel was nice and a good value. It is centrally located and provides good access to the other local venues. Vegas though?, I don't think I'll ever go back... I don't gamble or drink, but I do eat and I can do that for much less at much nicer places.
We have visited Las Vegas at least a dozen times and have never encountered such an overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke as we did during this stay.||The Horseshoe is in dire need of a new air filtration system. We’ve stayed at various hotels up and down the Strip and have never experienced air quality issues this bad.||Our trip got off to a rocky start when the “south strip view” room we paid extra for with early check-in wasn’t ready upon arrival. Thankfully, Jeff at the front desk was helpful and switched us to a room with a view of the Sphere, which ended up being the highlight of our stay.||Unfortunately, the room itself was outdated and not truly clean. We couldn’t even sit on the couch due to visible stains that appeared to be from bodily fluids—absolutely unacceptable.||We ended up spending most of our time at Paris, which was conveniently within walking distance. It was a far better experience than anything Horseshoe had to offer.
We were treated extremely well! The man at the check in desk was extremely helpful and made checking in a breeze. The staff were all friendly and helpful, lots of good meals and easy walking distance to most attractions. We will stay at the horseshoe again.
