We stayed at the Rainbow Tower in a corner room. Our initial thoughts were the hotel had not been updated recently. While the location was excellent, the amenities had not been kept up with current trends in the industry. We visited many other lobbies in the area and these competing properties were very nice and updated and gave you a luxury feel that you did not get at the Hilton. I felt with a little bit of effort, this property could easily stay up to date with its facilities but had not spent the capital to do so. I will say we received great treatment while we were there. The cleaning staff was great, our room was cleaned daily (which is refreshing nowadays). We did like walking around the resort browsing the shops within walking distance. We felt like the location was excellent. However, we did not know until we left that there was a shuttle to and from the airport which would have saved us some Uber charges. The fireworks show on Friday night was a nice touch and overall we enjoyed our time although may seek other options if we visit again.
Amazing stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. My husband and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary at this location and were not disappointed. This hotel was in a great location and had a lot to offer on the property. There were multiple pools, activity classes, beach access, restaurants, and shopping. We stayed in the rainbow tower with a view of Diamond Head. The room was not anything fancy but had AMAZING views! We were also able to see the Friday night fireworks from our balcony which was awesome! The check-in lines can be long but the staff did an awesome job at keeping it moving. I would recommend this hotel and would stay at this location again!
Excellent location right on the beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable, just a bit dated, needing an update. The front desk staff was friendly, valet team was great.
Being a Honors Diamond member, I was disappointed that the executive lounge was discontinued. (New procedure is that you get $18 pp for meals/drinks). With prices being so high on the property, the $18 didn't go far.
We will visit again.
We stayed one night. One of the best beach hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean same for the bathroom. However, the two queen size mattress are too soft, not good for my back. In the bathtub the water runs too warm and takes longer to cool down. We had a parcial ocean view. I will stay here again but make sure the beds are in better condition. The sand is clean and the ocean water is pristine and warm about 86 degrees temperature. The price for one beach umbrella and two lounge chairs was $99. For the whole day. Arrived early so you can get a good spot. The hotel is great for families with kids.
This place basically has taken advantage of the location so that it can take advantage of its guests. As a diamond member we came here for my birthday as well as our anniversary and it did not prove to be luxurious or accommodating sadly. We were very excited about this trip and we tried our best to utilize what was given to us at the front desk to navigate what’s included in our stay, but after multiple links and multiple QR codes it wasn’t much help and was very slow and complicated. Some of the problems we ran into included the jacuzzi closing earlier than I have ever seen before in a resort hotel (6pm), no microwaves in any rooms or anywhere in the resort, concierge didn’t know much and gave very limited and poor insight (just told us to use the same QR code when we checked in), the credit we received per day did not get applied even though we were able to charge it to the room, and when we wanted to use the credit it was too late a lot of times as they close restaurants/bars when it rains. Overall, we were disappointed and even though the room was clean and the location was great, the service really took a toll on our vacation.
We stayed at this hotel for it's amazing history. Considering it is very crowded and popular, the property was very clean and well run. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to the Ali'i Tower which is nice for couples and adults as it has it's own quiet pool on the 2nd floor roof with lovely views of the water. The room was very nice, very comfortable mattress and nice bathroom. Very user friendly. The balcony was large and we had a view of the Super pool and center of the property and Ocean view. You can also swim on the beach and in the lagoon.|Tropics restaurant was very good. There is plenty of convenient shopping in the Tapa and Diamond Head Towers, and the shopping area on the property. Several restaurants are on the property and there is even a post office. A luau is offered as well. The only downside are the crowds and it can get quite noisy outside. The room itself was quiet if you close the sliding doors and curtains at night. There was a nice fireworks show on, (every), friday night we could see from our west facing balcony.|If you are interested in the fabulous history of this property, there is an informational exhibit on the wall in the Tapa Tower. This hotel made our vacation!
Rainbow Tower: We arrived at the hotel and although initial impressions were great, once we got to the check in counter there were red flags. We were offered an "Upgrade" and the price for the upgrade would have led us to believe it would be amazing! Not the case. It was sold as an ocean view, it was a view of another building and the ocean was visible if you nearly fell off the balcony to look for it. The room and tower itself would give you the impression, again...it was an "upgrade", that it would be updated and luxury. It was not. The room was nothing like what I would expect from a Hilton property, more like a motel 6. The room for the other half of our traveling party did not even have paper for the toilet or soap! It was a very loud room with noise going off throughout the night. Even with the balcony door closed, we could hear nearly everything going on outside. Overall the room was a waste of money, and felt more like a scam to fill rooms and collect more money. I advise not to do it. The resort in general was a bit disappointing in the sense that the cost to eat at the resort is not friendly to a budget. The shops have weird hours, and the business owners of said shops are really not as friendly when you are browsing. If they really wanted to separate me from my money, they should learn to be a bit less grumpy and act as though I am not an inconvenience just because I walked in. The resort is absolutely overrun with pigeons. This is not really a negative for me as they were more entertaining than the resort itself. Let's talk about the parking. You should expect to pay $70 a day to park the car you rented to experience the island. yes...$70 a day. You can not avoid it as there is ZERO parking anywhere that is not controlled and priced. The front desk will hassle you when you have issues with your room, they will try HARD to sell you on the extras and overall this will end up being a stay that costs you way more than planned. Not worth it. I will NEVER stay at this location or recommend this property to my friends and clients. The only real positive I can say is this: the accessibility to the beach is top notch. Still not worth what was paid. Beware of added costs to your trip like resort fees, parking, scam upgrades, and a staff that was friendly only when they are trying to upsell. I would have given less stars, however the beach location was decent. Save your money and drive to the North Shore and see a beach that is not riddled with side hustle and crowds.
We stayed here during Thanksgiving and it was mostly a great experience. We weren't expecting the line to be SO long when we checked in. The first room we were assigned was a bit older than we expected, but the staff were super friendly and able to switch us to the Rainbow Tower.
I love the location because it's easy to get onto the freeway with a rental car. It's also a stop on the Waikiki Trolley as well as most luaus and tours. But, it's a bit of a walk if you want to get to the heart of Waikiki.
My kids had a blast and they totally want to stay here again.
