Went ironically and enjoyed two days by the pool doing absolutely nothing which is exactly what I needed. Steakhouse was really nice. Bar/restaurant had a mixture of fun younger people and old couples who didn't talk at dinner. The more casual restaurant had a good breakfast. Massive portions that are good for sharing. Tons of kids at the pool but we managed to get a quiet spot. Definitely can't begrudge parents a spot by the poolside bar watching their kids scream. I would need alcohol too.
I would give six stars if I could. The wonderful staff has been a literal life saver after my car broke down on the 5. Their pet-friendly policy is amazing, they provided a beautiful room for my family including my two dogs, and the staff went way above and beyond to help me deal with an extremely challenging situation. Above that, the accommodations, pool, and food options were amazing, the grounds are super dog friendly with lawns and pet waste stations, and the night in the room was perfect - quiet, dark, and peaceful for a great night’s sleep. Room amenities were great too, good AC, comfy beds, nice bathroom, mini fridge, and TV, and homelike furnishings like a table with chairs and a comfy lounge chair. Cool lobby with cattle-themed decor and good complimentary morning coffee. Having driven past this place dozens of times, I was beyond pleasantly surprised, and so grateful for the excellent service, and I would definitely stay again, hopefully in less dire circumstances!!
My family has been stopping here for the past 35 years when traveling north-south. It was the perfect place to break up the long drive when our kids were babies, and it’s the perfect place again now that we are elderly and the long drive is hard for us to make in one day. When the kids were little, the large pool was a godsend. For my aching bones, the hot tub is the pool of choice. The room itself feels no different, and we’re still greeted with two fresh cookies, but the bathroom is now also just right: there’s a built-in bench in the shower, and a hand shower to reach those hard to reach places. The smell outside is always amusing: made up equally of very strong jasmine from the bushes just outside, and, when the wind is right, eau de manure from the cattle lots not far away. It’s a quiet place, so it’s easy to sleep. And we are happy to have steak and eggs for breakfast before we get on the road again. This time my husband had some truly excellent house granola instead. It’s our family tradition; now our daughter stops here with our grandkids when she’s making the long drive. Harris Ranch holds many pleasant memories for our whole family.
We have been regular guests here for more than 30 years. This place is amazing! If you enjoy perfectly cooked steaks, you will like it here; The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The pool is enormous with excellent seating around and a poolside bar; The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. Pets are welcome too.
I always make sure to stop here for a steak whenever I'm driving through. You can't find any other steakhouses in California with this rich a flavor. The light seasoning and char mix well with the juicy steaks and lead to a very enjoyable meal. I only with it were closer to home so I could eat there more often. Bring a large stomach!
We love Harris Ranch. We stay frequently on our travel from Oregon to San Diego. It is an oasis. Excellent service, very friendly employees, and the prime rib is beyond extraordinary. The rooms meet our needs. Comfortable bed and nice showers. We appreciate the seasonal decorations and the outdoor landscaping. A perfect stop on a long drive.
Mother’s Day buffet. I’m sorry but my grandchildren could have done better. I came all the way from Philadelphia Pennsylvania and it couldn’t have been more disappointing. The food was not up to any Harris Ranch standard. It’s a shame that the Ranch name has been tainted. NEVER AGAIN. Anyone that thinks it was good. Doesn’t know good food.
What a wonderful stay. We had a wedding in the area(Yes). We had an amazing dinner. Try the baseball cut! But alas we needed the room for a little extra time and the Manager came out in a boot from surgery. And made it happen. Staff was super helpful and everything was very clean. Thank you Victor. He has been here for over 30 years.
