Best WLM Reviews
I stopped here to stay on travels along I-35. I had read some reviews that seemed pretty harsh but decided to try it anyway. Ok, I got a great room price and, yes, it was in the older tower so the rooms were a throw back. Felt like I was in old Vegas when I stayed there awhile ago. Loved it. The room in KC was clean, original, and the bed and pillows were more comfortable than my own. The staff did their best, and when I called housekeeping to replenish a few room supplies, they were helpful and responsive. Look, this is an older facility. Some of it has been updated and they're working on more updates, but the people were nicer here than any other casino hotel I stayed at and, for me, that goes a long way. I've stayed in both top notch suites and rooms that are from another era, and I am grateful that I had a clean older room, a comfortable bed, nice folks in my path, a great room price, and, mostly, safe travels along the way.
Hotel was good. We were comped a room which was clean and the air conditioning worked. Staff were friendly.
Hotel has ample parking in a lighted area.
The casino was a different story. We didn’t win and we never seen or heard anyone else win. It had no casino type vibe. Seemed like we were in church. Also, no free drinks and waitresses were hard to find.
People we talked to who were regulars said the same things. Hard to recommend this casino.
Surprised to learn that there is no room cleaning service. Manager/Supervisor explained it was due to COVID. During the checking in process there apparently is a line explaining this within the t&C's. I missed that as there were several pages of t&C's. I feel sorry for the local staff as corporate seem not to support. I was told by reception that they can not get any cleaning staff. The restaurant was short staff. I would not recommend this hotel until they have resolved staffing issues.
Absolutely worst experience ever. Upon checking in hotel staff was rude. I assumed when I booked the room everything was paid for including the “resort fee” and assumed they needed my credit card for any incidentals. Wrong.
I got to my room and it was not worth the $175 a night at all. Tables were not clean. Some sticky substance on them. Room was very very hot and took forever to get to a decent temperature.
Floors left my socks almost black with whatever was on them.
Got up the next morning thinking a complimentary breakfast of some sort would be available. Wrong again. For as high as the room price was and the “Amenity Fee” I expected better. Days Inn would have been a better choice.
Went to check out, not one person asked about our stay, or even said thank you for choosing Harrah’s.
Never never again.
I've been to Vegas and this has Vegas quality. I ate at one of the restaurants and had the daily special of chicken parmesan. It was excellent! Very large portion and lots of monitors to watch sports while dining. The casino floor was well-maintained. The card tables had Chiefs designs and looked new. It all looked recently remodeled. I really did enjoy the atmosphere. It wasn't dingy and I felt I got my money's worth.
Make sure you get a room in the renovated area because the non-renovated area was NOT great at all. We ended up changing rooms and so glad we did. The front desk staff were amazing, nice, and super helpful. We ate at the Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse which was delicious and had a good time at the casino. The only thing I would say to skip is the breakfast buffet. They really missed a mark on that. It was super sad and not worth the money. I was disappointed and left that morning hungry.
I celebrated my birthday here and had a great time. We will definitely have to do another staycation here again.
Booked for a graduation it was close to everything but the room had what looked like nail polish on carpet there was dust on soap in bathroom .also found taco bell packets laying on chair in room. When we told staff offered 30$ food credit but didn't explain how or where to use.casino was not worth going .the saving point w-\as the food place actually in the casino they had awesome chicken lo mien and crab ragoons.while, I wouldn't stay there / will. go for food. This place us/e to be so much cleaner and better 10 years ago. This was suppose be an upgraded room even so I would hate to see a regular room.
I had high expectations of a Harrah’s. We arrived and were originally put in the KC tower. We got to our room and it was the dirtiest, grossest, most dated room I’ve ever been in. The ceiling was half brown with dust bunnies hanging off it, the fabric headboard was filthy, the walls had what looked like blood splattered on them, the baseboards were filthy, there was a dirty sock in the middle of the room. Absolutely disgusting. We went to the front desk and complained and they didn’t act surprised at all. They gave us a room in the Las Vegas tower and it was a million times better. The bed was comfy and it was roomy and clean. Even the elevator and hallway were a million times better. That is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 1. We were there with a large group and we were bummed that there is absolutely no common areas where you can sit and hang out. The bar closes at 10 on weekdays and 11 on weekends, everything else closes earlier. The staff were friendly and helpful, the casino was kind of small but fun with lots of variety.
