While visiting Tucson, I thought this might be a good place to get great Mexican food. The parking lot was full, so I figured this was the right spot. There wasn't a wait to get in, but we were seated in the back, and it took a long time for a waitress to come around to us. In fact, the waitress NEVER made it around. A guy, I think his name was Ryan, helped us out. I believe he was working the bar but saw we'd been waiting, so he stepped up and handled our table for the rest of the night. I like that they make the salsa for you at your table. We all enjoyed margaritas and cocktails (around $15 each). We tried several different entrees, including the ultimate fajitas and the California burrito. The food was pretty good, but not great to me. Maybe it's because I'm so used to American Mexican food that's cheesier and saucier. This place really had a family vibe. I saw a lot of families and large groups dining here, but it's one and done for me.
We went with a group and they could not seat us together despite calling ahead by over 1 hour and telling us they could.
Other than that, pretty good experience. They would not split up our tab, which is not a problem for me or most people , I presume, but be aware.
The guacamole was amazing. The salsa good.
Hearty portions, way more to eat than you can finish. Good food.
The guacamole and salsa was pretty expensive given many very good Mexican restaurants serve it free.
The drinks were also very expensive comparatively speaking, but also very good.
Very nice decor, but very loud. Not necessarily bad, but just be aware.
Food is delicious, but service is meh. Didn’t get chips and salsa until we were getting our meal. And refills have been a bit slow, and a bit slow to take our order.
Over all, very good, just know it’s loud. I think our server might just have too many tables?
Loved the food! One of our favorite meals while visiting Tucson! The homemade salsa and guacamole alone are worth the stop. We probably ate too much but we just couldn’t stop! The drinks were delicious as well. The decor makes for a delightful meal as well.
I think this place has its own hall of fame in Tucson. Very unique place where they make table side free salsa with your spice leveling. I really enjoyed the food.
The service was not the best the server was very rude the menu had a lot of items we needed help in choosing he wasn’t even interested in talking.
Overall it’s authentic establishment with great food they need to work on the service.
They always have great salsas that you can make to order spicy to mild. The food is consistently good. This is family style Mexican and you can count on having filling and palatable Mexican meal at Guadalajara. They often have Mariachi players serenading the customers which makes the atmosphere all the better
A good selection of Mexican dishes and the portion sizes are plenty:) Overall, my family and I had a great time there. Welcoming ambiance, good food, friendly service, and we loved the the fresh salsa and guacamole.
We are first time visitors and this place came highly recommend. Now we see why! Love the atmosphere, decor, music, menu selection and food! Our server Stephen was warm and welcoming and attentive. The tableside guacamole and salsa cart appeared almost as soon as we sat down. It was truly the perfect meal from start to finish...
