Great Wolf Lodge was an excellent experience! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the water park was so much fun. There were plenty of games and entertainment for the kids, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The food was decent and added to the convenience. A perfect getaway for families—we’ll definitely be back.
We are just finishing up a 2 night mid week stay with our 4 and 7 year old. Sounds like we’re lucky the new lobby is open and the remaining construction seems to be minimal. It’s been super fun and easy to enjoy time together. Indoor area open, outdoor closed, but that was just the right amount of experiences for our smaller kids. ||We did not pay for any extra packages or meal plans here; ate breakfast in Grapevine and did one family order from Howling Like A Wolf at the lodge, which was very tasty and provided enough for two adults to eat two meals from it. ||Glad to have the fridge and microwave in the room, which was very clean. Kids loved the bunks and the shower had great pressure and was super hot.||Would definitely consider staying again.
Overall, the place is fantastic! The customer service is awesome and everyone was very friendly! Lines were not too long and the pools were not too crowded. The only complaint we really had was the temperature! The temps inside the water park are fine and you can walk around wet without feeling cold. However, once you walk back into the hotel, it is cold! The lovely heat does not extend into that bit so there were freezing kids and adult alike scurrying back to their rooms whilst shivering the whole time. Be prepared and bring warmer clothes to change into or rent the towels to walk back to your room.
I'm not happy about a few things. We pay big money for a room and this year they started charging $15 a day for parking. What a rip after what we pay for a room.
Also, in years past the park opened at 9 am on weekdays. Now it's 10 am. Checkout is at 11 am and your park doesn't open until 10 am? How pathetic.
We pay to be here for the park.
Yes, the park is fun, but because of these changes, I will not be coming back.
Too pricey for the shrinking amenities and additional charges.
Also, there's no gym.
UPDATE... I am going to leave 3 stars because my kids did have a blast.
I like what one reviewer said.... very different experience for adults vs kids. I do know we made lifelong memories and that is good.
My husband and I took a trip to the Great Wolf Lodge for the first time with our three and two year old boys. We had an amazing time. We stayed in the kid cabin and it was perfect for the boys. They really enjoyed it. They loved the bowling and the arcade and everybody was super friendly and helpful. I would say there was some renovations when we went so that was a downside, but once they’re done renovations, I’m sure will be even better. They could do better with daily activities. It seems like during the day there not too much to do besides the and bowling, but the waterpark is INCREDIBLE!
My kids picked up a nasty stomach virus here. Our trip was totally ruined. Really upset. Despite that, our room was really nice. The manger was really great. She’s good at her job.
It’s okay, I just think for how much they charge for the rooms they should definitely be nicer, water park be a little bigger & why are we paying $15 for parking? I think you can go to a good water park and get a hotel and it’ll be cheaper than staying here. It’s good for the kids but I was cold unless I was submerged under water. I think overall I’ll come back if I don’t have to pay but I wouldn’t spend my own money to stay again
The second time here, and loved it. Even having been there before, there was lots to do for kids.
They redid the Magiquest, and we were able to complete it on a 3 day trip without it eating all our time. They say they are working on new stories, so fingers crossed.
The pool was great, though the wave pool was a little too cold for our kids. The slides were all fun, and the hot tub was great.
Great updates to the dinner buffet. It's not as big a selection as they had before, but higher quality. The breakfast buffet was a standard hot hotel breakfast buffet.
