Fantastic experience! Good point start to visiting the Canyon. Great views and a very convenient free bus service to each view point and back. Walking from one to another is also a reasonable 1-3 miles easy walk. Don’t miss a sunrise or sunset at one point!
It’s the grand fukn canyon!!!! I went down there when I was in Vegas and it was nothing like this time. So many spots to pull off and park that we couldn’t help but stop. I would highly recommend going and definitely stopping for all of the sights bc it is definitely worth it. BTW the crowds weren’t as bad as we expected however the parking was full when we were leaving.
Well laid out. The free shuttle service is amazing. Plenty of parking to accommodate many travelers. The store is a little limited but serviceable. Don’t interact with any rangers but they seemed helpful from a distance. As with any National Park you need to put up with some knuckleheads that think it’s all about them.
Visited during December break. Was slightly crowded. Buss services were running and most of the routes were good.
Recommend planning ahead of visiting what you want to do. There are shuttles connecting spots on the rim. There are hikes that takes minutes, hours, whole day depending on time of year and weather. Trails get icy during December.
Dry canyon, consider being hydrated. Some places are accessible by car. No need to get shuttles. So plan ahead. North rim get closed during winter months.
Get nps app and download offline map on it.
Get annual pass if planning to visit couple of national parks around. Online buying takes time, but you can buy at both entrances.
Words can't begin to describe how beautiful this place is. First timer, was not disappointed. Aside from all the mud the snow had made and slippery conditions, it was all worth it. Stopped at a couple gift shops, hit a couple trails in the area. Tickets were around 35 bucks per vehicle, seven day pass. Need ID and pass for reentry. Check out the south rim I believe and hiked South Kaibab Trail to Skeleton Point. Restrooms were questionable but was expected. Be sure to take water and smacks. I didn't struggle too much with the elevation. Trekking pole is recommended though, it helped a lot. People were friendly and courteous. Can't wait to go back, the rim to rim is on my bucket list ????
During my recent business trip to Arizona, after a week of meetings, I found myself with three glorious days of free time starting from Friday. Eager to check the Grand Canyon off my bucket list, I embarked on the four-hour drive to this natural wonder. The breathtaking scenery exceeded all my expectations, making the long journey more than worthwhile.
Despite a challenging hike of over three hours, the mesmerizing views kept me energized and rejuvenated. As I marveled at the grandeur of the Grand Canyon, fatigue seemed to disappear. I am certain that I will return to this awe-inspiring place once my children are older to share this unforgettable experience with them.
The center has several amenities. It has several parking spots but it can get really crowded. There is also a souvenir shop and coffee shop in the area. It has a couple of restrooms. The Grand Canyon bus lines run through here. The signs are very useful in guiding visitors. Mather point is towards the back of the center. The center is actually along the ridge trail of the canyon.
Nice park with impressive views and walks globally easy and not very long since there are bus stops everywhere. You walk on the rim for around 20km if you want, there can be a lot of people on some bus stops.
Compared to other parks like Bryce or maybe monument valley it's a bit less impressive for me but still a must see
