We went to the Gaylord for a last minute Anniversary trip and if I had to do it again, the Christmas holiday is way too busy for me ( and 25 bucks a day for parking ??) !! Rooms seemed small for the price but clean and comfortable. Lots of dining options, plenty of places to grab a cocktail ($$), and lots of neat shops.. but the best thing about the resort is the people ! Super friendly employees at every turn and we wanted for nothing!! From the restaurant manager, and shop attendants, to the bartenders and even the girl cleaning the rooms, over and above was the norm... would probably rate the Resort a 3, but the service employees made it a 5... thanks everyone ...
We had an amazing time at the Gaylord Hotel for their ICE exhibit! The decorations were absolutely stunning and created such a festive atmosphere. The hot chocolate and pretzels were delicious, perfect for warming up after walking through the exhibit. All the staff members were incredibly kind and made our visit even more special. We celebrated my daughter’s 6th birthday, and one of the staff members gave her an extra ride on the carousel since there was no one in line—such a thoughtful touch! We also enjoyed decorating sugar cookies, which was a fun activity for the whole family. Highly recommend visiting for a magical experience!
Family of four, children ages 8 & 5, excited to experience all the holiday activities at the resort! Stayed 2 nights. FILTHY room - we’re talking shoes sticking to the tile and carpet shredding and gross looking — mirrors damaged in room and hotel really showing its age. Elevator broken so had to walk to another building to get up/down from the 9th floor. Food mediocre, must make reservations and breakfast buffet….$100+ and automatic 18% tip added! Server brought two cups of coffee, and napkins. Decor is beautiful, place is full of families in their holiday best, children were happy, but we will never stay here again. Very disappointed in the hotel and exuberant prices, $11 for a small can of Red Bull. A month ago in Mexico, a foreign country, I paid $8 for the same can. It’s imported, I get it. But Dallas? In the end, in 2 days at the Gaylord we spent almost the same $ for 5 days @ Cancun all-inclusive. ????
Part of the charm of this property is how huge it is. Lots of extra steps while touring it. Very helpful front desk staff, bartenders, and servers at every place we went.|We really enjoyed the atrium with gardens, miniature trains, and a light show. Found a Sprinkles ATM for a cupcake dessert.|The room was huge and included a balcony. It was very clean and comfortable. Facing the atrium was an enjoyable experience except the light show goes all night so the room is not that dark when trying to sleep. Our only issue was that one of the lobby elevators was out of service so there was some waiting time.|We ate at the Riverfront Cantina. It was surprisingly good. You need more than one night to fully experience this resort.
They were short of bellhops, but they wouldn't allow guests to push their own luggage carts, so there was a huge traffic jam in the entrance as cars waited for a bellhop. I ended up carrying all my stuff in on my own because I didn't want to wait 30 min and they wouldn't let me use one of the 3 empty carts... Terrible service!
This is not a very genuine or cozy place, but they do a good job of glitter and the rooms are quiet and comfortable.
Not sure why the most expensive hotels tend to have the cheapest toilet paper, but this one is no exception...
The place is huge. Only the hallways with hotel rooms (and the conference center) are straight. The balance flow to mimic an outdoor setting. The main atrium is especially true with streams, towers, windmill, etc. It is definitely catering to be an upscale destination.
Rooms are clean, updated, nicely tiled. Service was excellent.
Parking is $25 for self-park and $45 for valet. Quite a walk inside for people with difficulty doing so. The rooms are nice and the suite is fantastic. We attended a wedding there tonight. Everything was beautiful but not overly extravagant. There was a giant bright digital screen playing advertisements above the bride and groom as they said their vows and the speakers were crackly and kept cutting in and out behind me the whole service, sounded pretty bad. But the cocktail servers were great and the main course servers were amazing and on-point. Friendly, personable, and on top of every step of the meal, down to removing forks from your place setting a you no longer need them. Those were the real VIPs. The inside courtyard is gorgeous. The decor of that whole area was great. It's essentially a giant circle so it was easy to not get lost even for me.
I'm not privy to how much they paid and I know darn well it's more than I can afford, but I'm sure to most people the cost would be worth it at this place.
We've never actually stayed at this hotel, but it is a beautiful facility with a staff in place that is always so helpful. We go there every year at this time to witness the truly spectacular ICE events and see the talents of some amazing artists. This year was the story of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and it follows right along with the original tv special......that we just watched a couple of nights before. If you have the opportunity, make the journey to the Gaylord Texan and see this awesome display, ALL made of ICE.
