Best WLM Reviews

The Gaylord is a beautiful resort in the middle of National Harbor. My wife and I, along with our kids had a staycation there this past weekend for Mother's Day. The elegance of the lobby/atrium cannot be missed! The manager (Vanessa) and the front desk staff (Danny) went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The room was modern and aesthetically pleasing - very modern touches, and very clean. We walked to dinner by the water at Rosa Mexicano, as most all of the restaurants are a short distance away. We loved looking out onto the atrium from our balcony. It is an excellent choice to stay, if you are looking for a high quality hotel with exceptional service! We look forward to being back!
We stayed at this hotel a while back for a weekend, and we loved it. Our room had an excellent atrium view, and it was lovely. We had a comfy bed; the room had everything we needed. The hotel has a beautiful atrium under a vast glass house with a small town-like setting. It has shops, restaurants, a tree garden, and a water fountain, which we loved wandering around. We also enjoyed afternoon wine at its lobby bar overlooking the atrium and Potomac River, which was quite romantic. Many dining options are within walking distance from the hotel and attractions in National Harbor. We had a few drinks at the rooftop bar, and it had a nice view of the harbor. I highly recommend staying at this hotel to make unforgettable memories.
I booked the Gaylord for a mommy/daughter weekend because I wanted a resort experience but truthfully, there is not much to do. The hotel is premium pricing but doesn’t have the premium amenities that other Gaylord properties do. The atrium is nice, but it’s just something to look at; there are no activities. The pool is average, doesn’t have enough chairs and the hot tub was out of order. Many of the arcade games were broken. The employees we encountered were not especially friendly. The “light show” was a big letdown. The town of National Harbor is nice if you want to shop and eat for a few hours. We did go to DC, but staying here to go to DC is not convenient. Unless it is Christmastime there is just not enough to do to warrant the price. The room itself was nice and the beds were comfortable. I really wish they would consider adding some of the amenities that other Gaylord properties have like water parks, expansive pool areas, etc, to make it a real ‘destination.’ Otherwise it is just an expensive hotel that’s an expensive boat ride away from DC.
The only reason we give it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the room was clean (although the carpet was questionable). Definitely not worth what we paid. Possibly the smallest hotel room we've had in the US in the last 30 yrs. The mattress wasn't comfortable, no mini fridge, really cheap, unattractive decor, we reserved a king bed & a waterfront view but got 2 double beds and a view of the roof of the parking garage & homes, the tub was tiny & shallow and even with the tub being small, the hot water heater didn't produce enough hot water to draw a hot bath. The "whirlpool" down by the pool wasn't much better. No warmer than the tub, the jets were weak & not positioned well and the chemical level was so high, I had to get out in less than 10 minutes because my eyes were burning. 30 minutes later, they were still burning. (So no help for the back ache from the mattress there.) The layout of the hotel is quite confusing and the quality of service was inconsistent (some were helpful, others not at all). Thirty minutes after checking in, I called the front desk because two things in the room weren't working. By the time we left for dinner 3 hours later, they still had come to fix the issues. I had to call again the next morning. Everything in the hotel (restaurants, etc) was over priced. Definitely not worth what we paid.
If you're seeking a top-notch stay in the National Harbor area, look no further than the Gaylord Hotel. From the moment you step foot into this majestic establishment, you're enveloped in a world of luxury, comfort, and impeccable service.
During my recent visit, I was fortunate enough to experience the hospitality of the remarkable staff, particularly Lauren, her boss and the team at Celebrity Services. Their dedication to ensuring every guest's needs are not only met but exceeded is truly commendable. From personalized recommendations to seamless arrangements, Lauren, her boss and her colleagues went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable.
But the excellence didn't stop there. Joe, the Technical and Shift Supervisor of Encore Global, deserves special recognition for his exceptional service. His attention to detail, prompt assistance, and willingness to go the extra mile truly set him apart. Whether it was resolving a technical issue or simply ensuring my comfort, Joe's professionalism and expertise left a lasting impression.
Overall, my experience at the Gaylord Hotel was nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to the dedicated efforts of Lauren, her boss, Joe, and the entire staff. Their commitment to delivering unparalleled service truly made my stay perfect in every way. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to making guests feel truly special. Navigator 2024 was the best ever!!
The Gaylord can be very good but was only good this time. It was better than average hence my VG rating. They really do good work for the amazing volume but a few missteps this time (I come every year for a big convention). Staff are friendly but there can be long slow lines at reception. My status was acknowledged but I did not receive an upgrade and was told I could not have late checkout despite it supposedly being guaranteed as a Titanium elite. The room was hot and even with the thermometer set at 65, I could not use the covers at night. Room attendants are excellent and room is well kept. Food options are very expensive and limited- the wait at the grab and go for lunch can be an hour just to pay. The bars are very good. This hotel has 5-star potential but needs to up its game.
Our family stayed at the Gaylord for a volleyball tournament and had an amazing stay. The hotel and conference center is huge. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bars and restaurants in the facility were great. Everything in the National Harbor is an easy walk away. The casino and Tanger outlet are a quick shuttle or Uber away. Great place to stay when visiting D.C.
When we first arrived my partner and I were in awe. The hotel was so beautiful. We then proceed to walk to our room and there’s a bag of trash beside it. We brushed that off though because we assumed the housekeeping had an emergency. We go out for dinner and come back to shower and relax. We’re preparing to go to sleep and I felt a crumb of some sort so I pop it off the bed. But then I felt more so I turn the light on and flipped the cover back … there was hair, skin, and dirt in the bed. I have never been so disgusted I had a panic attack. To pay $900 for a dirty room is atrocious. I’ll never stay there again.
