Best WLM Reviews
This place really surprised me how good their food is. I like that you can order directly from the QR code on that’s provided at the table. You don’t have to flag down the server every time you need to order more. The servers were very attentive and will come by to empty your finished skewers and check in on you. I loved the unique options they have like beef tongue, tendon, intestines, frog legs and pork feet. Everything is so tasty. Even the fried rice was delicious, you can taste the wok hay. The price is pretty good for the value you get. I would definitely be back for more.
As a California (San Bernardino county) resident & as an Indian Asian, Kebab is nothing new for me & my family. We have many indian, pakistani & middle-eastern kebab restaurants. We even make kebabs at home. Never been to a Chinese kebab. So coming here to a Chinese Kebab at a Texan China Town area was exciting. I was expecting flavorful kebabs. It was overall a different experience. However, the taste of everything is kinda the same! Nothing special for me/us. Nothing special at all. A little bit disappointing. My/ our expectations were high! Tried many items from their menu. But no wow factor for our taste buds. The restaurant was very cozy & had a good amount of seatings. Clean & tidy. The servers were good. Orders need to be done over online after scanning the QR code. There are extra food menu items & reward points for members. Our total experience was okay but one of the servers (not chinese) made my wife & sister feel very uncomfortable by staring at them spontaneously! Nothing wrong but it was very awkward.
According to me the price is a bit high compared with proportion & taste. This restaurant is not for me.
I ordered the chicken skewers and the lamb with fat on skewers. It is super delicious and the service was fast and attentive. The atmosphere is also super cool and fun with customers going up to sing karaoke providing entertainment for people eating.
Good vibes and good food are to be found at this Chinese BBQ chain from Flushing NY!
I enjoyed their BBQ meat skewers, as they are juicy and well-seasoned, with my favorite being the lamb skewers. Other than the meat and seafood skewers, they also have many vegetarian options including tofu skin, enoki mushrooms, eggplant, sweet potatoes, and fish tofu. I also tried their fresh milk tea which I didn’t expect much from, but surprisingly flavorful and tasty! I think my only complaint regarding the food would be the eggplant, it was a bit too chewy for my liking and difficult to eat, as well as drenched in sauce so it was a bit too salty.
The service can be slower as they get really busy on the weekends, but for me I didn’t mind since it’s a great place to just hangout with friends and family. There was live music being played when I visited (and I think Karaoke later at night), not sure if this is a common occurrence but definitely improved the vibe!
Here’s everything I tried:
-Grilled Saury Fish ($5.50)
-Squid ($2)
-Lamb ($7.50)
-Beef ($7.50)
-Beef Tendon ($3.50)
-BBQ Pork ($4)
-Chicken Skewer ($4)
-Cauliflower ($2)
-King Oyster Mushrooms ($4.50)
-BBQ Corn ($1.50)
-Tofu Skin ($9)
-BBQ Sweet Potato Slices ($3)
-Fish Tofu ($2)
-King Eggplant ($10)
-Prawn ($2)
-Yangzhou Fried Rice ($10)
-Fresh Milk Tea ($5.50)
-Strawberry Lemonade ($5.50)
Dinner with some friends, place is in the middle of chinatown, so great location. Atmosphere is good but maybe too loud since karaoke was there, we tried most of the meat choices, on average they were tasty, unfortunately if you have a big party if tough to know what are you eating since they serve the skewers in the middle of the table, so it can get pretty messy. Overall a good experience, I don’t think I will come back overall, rather try the concurrence
food and service here are outstanding. you can order using the QR code at your table instead of having to call the server each time. staff are very attentive and quick to replace container for your trash/used skewers. lastly, we were so surprised with the amount of flavor the food has! our entire group was impressed. favorites were the pork belly, chicken skewers, and green beans. the golden buns are a MUST TRY. i cannot recommend this place enough. will surely come back
I took my mom to Gao's first time for both of us, and she got the seafood boil. Good price, good food, and she had
No problem with her order.
But, I ordered hush puppies, 3 chicken wings onion rings, and sausage. My food was not good. The best thing I ate was the hush puppies and sausage. The onion rings and chicken were fried so hard you could knock on the table with them.
This is definitely a seafood place that is what they did best on yesterday.
For the best dining experience, I suggest placing your orders gradually from the online menu. Enjoy each dish as it arrives at your table and then order more. Their kabobs, in particular, lose their flavor when they get cold due to their high fat content, so it's wise to pace your ordering to ensure everything is enjoyed at its freshest.
We ordered lamb kabob, beef kabob and beef tongs. The spices were the same for all three dishes. We also ordered rice with potato noodles, it was really good but oily.
The price was really good
