Best WLM Reviews

We had an excellent breakfast at the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. It gave us the energy to start our day before exploring the area. We loved the farm-to-table concept, which was fantastic. Each dish was made from fresh, locally grown ingredients and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, and we were satisfied with the taste of the food. The coffee was also delicious, and the service was excellent. The ambiance was perfect - well-maintained, clean, and tidy. Overall, we had a great experience without any complaints.
I decided to have dinner with the family at Founding Farmers after reading the reviews. First of all it’s best to make a reservation or you could be waiting awhile +/- 30 minutes. The decor of the restaurant is gorgeous and the lay out flows very well throughout the restaurant. They do have outdoor seating as well as bar seating for dining. The customer service from beginning to end was very good and waiter did a great job taking care of us. The atmosphere is very loud so be prepared to bring your outside voice to talk.
I ordered the Chicken and Waffle which seemed to be the best option considering that everything is “made from scratch” and they say their fried chicken is award winning. Let me get straight to the point, the chicken was good, tasty and crispy but it didn’t have the soul food taste to it as you’d expect with chicken and waffles. I was disappointed but not every chicken and waffle dish is going to be great.
The macaroni and cheese as a side was good but not delicious, the green beans were bland and I needed to add salt and more salt to give it some semblance of flavor. Again, don’t expect this to be a soul food experience and if that’s not what you’re looking for then you’ll be fine.
My daughter had the cheeseburger and she said it was good but she wasn’t impressed. My wife had the baby cheeseburgers and she said they were good. Overall, we had a great experience but the food was not the star of the evening.
Great place near the White House! The prime rib dip was AMAZING! Super tender and flavorful beef, great dip. Love their spring sides; I got the radish and beet salad which was great. The bread bun on the prime rib was really great as well. Probably the best French dip I’ve had. Really can’t recommend it enough! Pot roast and goat cheese burger were pretty solid too.
The carrot cake is wonderful! The ice cream is really really good and very soft; not your average ice cream. The frosting was very creamy but not too sweet. Cake was perfect moisture.
My friend and I went here yesterday our first time. It was AMAZING. It’s super pretty in there the manager man he was so nice so on point super inviting. Everyone in there helps one another it seems we saw like 4 different people at our table checking in to see if we were okay and needed anything. It was a very welcoming and warm experience the food was super good and I’ll probably keep coming back. I really loved everything.
Recommended by a friend and their food did not disappoint. Very busy atmosphere and a long wait for a table (an hour on a Monday), but able to find a place at the bar (barely). Food came out fast and hot but they did forget my bacon I requested. Made to order and was made perfectly. Food tasted amazing. Everything made by hand which is impressive but you can tell staff was stretched thin (despite being well staffed, they were just that busy).
All of the servers were really attentive and hardworking. We went in a particular busy day as it was a 45 minute wait (we were late for our reservation unfortunately). We were seated outside where dozens of waiters were working and seemed to have quick access to things they needed such as drinks, coffee, and outside heaters.
The food was really good. I got the southwest scramble as well as the Aztec coffee. The coffee was a little bit stronger than I was used to but they have cream & sugars. Loved the design on the plates and cups too! Even though we were outside, it still felt like an indoor dining experience. I recommend going here and definitely making a reservation in advance as it seems to be a really popular place!
I was told by a friend to try this place for breakfast while I was in DC. I ignored his advise and instead tried dinner. I was told that I should make reservations as they are typically very busy. So at 730pm I called and requested a table for 2 @ 8pm they had a spot and we secured a table with a short wait. The waiter was very friendly and helpful giving us his suggestions. I found an article in a DC magazine where the chef suggested trying the fried green tomatoes and for dinner the Yankee Pot Roast. I went with that and my wife went on the waiter’s recommendation of the Goat Cheese Ravioli With Chicken Cutlet.
The fried green tomatoes were phenomenal and the Yankee Pot Roast was good. Let me tell you my wife’s food was amazing!!! I haven’t enjoyed a meal like that in a while. Sweet and tasty I was so glad she couldn’t finish it. Prices were acceptable to me. You can download the menu online and view the pricing.
Fried chicken dish was good with crispy outside and tender inside. However, I’ve had better fried chicken/waffle dish at Roscoe’s.
Fish dishes (cedar plank salmon and grilled fish of the day) were small portion but tasty. Nothing stands out. Same side meals for both. No other options?
Service was OK. The server forgot to bring out maple syrup for the waffles. Had to wait a while for the waiter to bring the syrup.
