Excalibur in Las Vegas offers a medieval-themed experience right on the Strip. The castle-like exterior is fun and unique, especially for first-time visitors. Rooms are clean but could use some updates to feel more modern. The casino floor is lively, with plenty of slots and table games. Dining options are diverse, though some restaurants can get pricey. The location is fantastic, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. The pool area is spacious and great for families or lounging. Staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth stay. Parking is convenient but may require a fee. Overall, it’s a budget-friendly option with a fun vibe.
If you go into this hotel with the understanding that it's older, you'll be fine. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are outdated, but the water pressure is amazing! We stayed in 3 WellStay rooms, and they were perfect for our family! The service is fantastic, and we had no issues with any staff members during our stay.
The great thing about this hotel is they have an arcade and things for kids to do. We came for a concert with our 12 - and 18 year old and they both enjoyed themselves. When coming with our family, we will definitely be staying here again!
Highly recommend this resort for families!
I enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean and comfortable. There was no fridge, microwave or coffee maker. Plenty of towels. Casino was fun. Good selection of games. The only thing I didn't like was a resort fee for things I had no use for. Valet and bellhop were both fast and friendly. Check in was quick as well. Overall, I'd stay here again.
Excalibur Hotel Las Vegas - 2 Stars
"Stuck in the Past"
Look, I get it. Vegas is all about themes, but this place takes it to a whole other level. We're talking full-on medieval overload. Think cheesy suits of armor, jousting tournaments on repeat on the TVs, and waitresses dressed like wenches. It was fun for about five minutes, then it just got old.
The room itself was...well, let's just say it had seen better days. The carpet was stained, the furniture was scratched up, and the bathroom definitely needed an update. It wasn't exactly dirty, but it wasn't exactly sparkling clean either.
And don't even get me started on the crowds. This place was packed with families and kids running around everywhere. It felt more like a theme park than a casino. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this ain't it.
The casino itself was decent enough, I guess. Plenty of slots and table games, but nothing special. The drinks were overpriced, and the cocktail waitresses were nowhere to be found.
The only saving grace was the location. It's right on the Strip, so you can easily walk to other casinos and attractions. But honestly, you can find much better hotels in Vegas for the same price.
Pros:
* Location, location, location
Cons:
* Outdated decor
* Worn-out room
* Overcrowded
* Overpriced drinks
* Lackluster casino
Overall:
If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful place to crash on the Strip, Excalibur might do the trick. But if you're looking for a luxurious or even remotely modern experience, you'll be sorely disappointed. This place is stuck in the past, and it's time for a major upgrade.
This was an unexpected gem! I had the greatest time at this Casino/Hotel. My room was clean and well appointed; my bed was extremely comfortable. The location was central to all of my destinations.
I also want to extend a special thanks to Josh Shinn for reaching out to me upon my arrival. I greatly appreciated your welcoming note.
I am definitely returning and I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
A place for a short stay! Location is prime and tram access convenience to strips. Great for last minute get away with friends and family. Would highly recommend for first time to vegas to feel the strip life access 24/7. Very simple and great price.
I actually stayed here and was my first time in Vegas we got married on this trip . The staff were so kind and accommodating. I had an amazing time and will definitely stay here again . Close to everything and affordable rates. I do think the rooms are a little dated but I would give a 10 out of 10 you guys rock.
It's definitely not my favorite Vegas hotel that I've ever stayed at but I booked it because it was comparatively inexpensive to the other resorts on the strip. As far as the room goes (Royal Tower King Room), the king bed was probably the highlight as it was very comfortable and I had no trouble whatsoever sleeping in it (and I have a lot of trouble sleeping at times.) Other than that though the room's amenities feel kinda lacking in that there was no refrigerator, no chair to sit at the desk (which could have been handy when eating in the room) and the lighting in the bathroom wasn't up to par especially since I was staying over Halloween and had to do makeup for my costume (a makeup mirror would have also been a useful addition.) I highly recommend using the MGM rewards app for check in/out since it made the process a breeze. Other than that the resort had a wonderful brunch buffet and I did enjoy that they had karaoke nights at their lounge. And while its location on the south end of the strip made it a bit of a hike to get to some of the other resorts and attractions further north, there are plenty of great dining and entertainment options in the surrounding resorts for when, like me, you don't feel like travelling too far.
