It is just a really great place to have fun!! the slots are a lot looser here. The blackjack is second to none at least they give you a real shot to win they pay 3 to 2 odds, The craps table pay 10 to 1 odds !! I really like their sports book. They still have horse racing simulcast betting and professional sports betting ????????????⚾️ which is really enjoyable. |their restaurant inside the casino Siegels has some really tasty food and a great prime rib special 19.95 which is a real bargain!! Their soups are really tasty too. They have a nice selection on the menu and the service is great and they treat their employees better than most casinos in downtown !! Their hotel is newly upgraded, and the rooms are really comfortable. Their general manager, Adam always does a wonderful job welcoming you as a customer and a player. He really makes you feel like valued customer???? They have some great giveaways, cash giveaways every month, which is second to none,in downtown Vegas ! Their players rewards club is a great addition to the El Cortez Casino so when you go there remember take advantage . There’s so much to say about this great facility but you’ll have to go down there and go and have some fun with friends and family or even a business trip. and last but not least I’d like to give a shout out to the owner of this casino. Who is the best ,Kenny Epstein and is very friendly and generous with his players and customers Yes, it’s a privately owned casino, which makes this place old school and more inviting for the gambler !! It even makes this Casino more inviting !!
We love this place! It's old school retro! After several visits just to gamble, we finally stayed a few days. The room was clean and comfortable. Not fancy, but still a good room. It was larger than your average strip room too.
This hotel was a complete disappointment. The experience was rough from start to finish:
**No Heat:** We waited hours for maintenance to find out their version of "heat" was essentially cool air. We had to layer up and huddle under the covers just to stay warm.
**Lukewarm Water:** The first shower was barely lukewarm, so warming up wasn’t even an option. And shower had not been thourghly cleaned!
**Cigarette Smoke:** Despite booking a non-smoking room, cigarette smoke infiltrated through the vents, making the room unpleasant.
**Noise:** Forget sleeping in! By 7 a.m., the noise was unbearable. After going to bed at 2 a.m., we were utterly exhausted and ready to leave well before the noon checkout time.
**Security was the one shining moment. My husband left his credit card at the restaurant and didn’t realize it until the following morning. Thankfully, the staff had secured it. The security guard who helped us retrieve it was very pleasant and made a stressful situation much easier. We also had a great interaction with another guard during our elevator ride out—both were professional and friendly.
While we love staying downtown Fremont, trying to save a few bucks here wasn’t worth it. We’ll stick to our reliable hotel choices moving forward. This place is off our list for good!
Pros |Cheap price|The room was mostly clean|The bed was comfortable||Everything else|The doors to the rooms are outside. |They offer complimentary ear plugs at check in for a reason. At night the clubs are really loud. In the morning starting around 6 there was what sounded like construction. |None of the staff were rude, but I wouldn’t call them friendly either. |They put a wrist band on us when we checked in. It’s the room and elevator access. You’re not supposed to take it off and it’s hard to get off without breaking it. Great if you’re getting trashed and might lose your room key. ||In general, this place could be perfect for someone with different preferences than me, but I’m glad I only booked this room for 1 night.
Really disappointed. El Cortez has been a family tradition for my father and I for years. We loved the welcoming atmosphere and low limit games with fair rules.
Today we arrived on our pilgrimage to find $15 minimum tables - on a Tuesday afternoon - with “no double after split,” 6 to 5, etc.
I understand this is 2024 and things change — but why would someone bother coming to Cortez to play at worse odds and limits than you could get on parts of the strip?? Does not compute.
stopped in for the prime rib dinner. I paid about $40. It was a big and tasted good! I would return, I think they have an happy hour price for the prime rib, so you have to go in that time to get the deal!
I had a great time gaming here, the baccarat dealers were very fun, knowledgeable. What kept me staying was the positive attitude and amazing service by Angel the beverage sever, I had a great time laughing and having a good time with the staff here. Come see them, you won’t be disappointed!!!
Cool classic casino to check out! Lots of cheap table games, cheap drinks. They had like 6 classic coin slots in the way back corner that were fun to play. I'd come back to check it out again when wondering Fremont street.
