Best WLM Reviews

I recently traveled through [Airport Name], and while it is undoubtedly a world-class facility, my experience was a mix of positives and negatives, leading to a three-star rating.
The airport itself is immaculate, with clean and modern facilities that truly reflect its world-class status. The layout is easy to navigate, and there are plenty of amenities to keep travelers comfortable while they wait. The variety of shops, restaurants, and lounges adds to the overall convenience and enjoyment of the airport experience.
However, the main issue I encountered was on my return journey. The security process was incredibly slow, taking nearly two hours to get through. This was particularly frustrating as it added unnecessary stress to my travel day. While I understand that security is crucial, the process could have been handled more efficiently, especially in an airport of this caliber.
Overall, while the airport is clean and offers a generally pleasant experience, the long wait times at security significantly impacted my satisfaction. With improvements to the security process, this airport could easily become a five-star experience.
I'm not sure if this is true, but it felt like Dulles International Airport wasn't originally designed to deal with this many passengers or airlines. Aside from the very high ceilings in the main terminal everything feels 'tight', like it has been wedged in or added later. For example, depending what terminal you land at, you may need to take a bus to get to the badge claim, the terminal train totally skipped B gates when I was on it in July 2024, and the signage isn't particularly good (and in the one trip I've taken through this airport, I have seen confused passengers wandering around/asking for directions).
In fairness, I will give credit to this airport as security was efficient when I came through, although it wasn't very busy at that time (I'd be intrigued to see if it remains as efficient at peak times).
Love this airport! Super convenient to get to now that the silver line is open. Took a flight out of Dulles on a Monday afternoon and there was no wait at security and the TSA workers were extremely nice and respectful.
The gate I was at was gate D. Not a huge variety of eating establishments. The usual fast food but it’s just one long gate. Not a lot to speak of. But shops, restrooms and the main areas a well maintained and are very clean.
IAD (Washington Dulles Airport) is a very busy airport. However, they have deployed hard working and very efficient team of employees to handle the heavy work volume very smoothly. We as passengers feel extremely happy and satisfied as the staff members are very helpful and ready to help all the time. They are ready to serve the passengers at any time and greet with a smile. IAD Airport is very clean and attractive. I think it is one of the best airports in the world.
I love visiting this airport! I've been through Dulles over 5 times, and from the first set of Doors onward, all is nice and swift. The agents from all airlines are all super courteous, TSA is fast, thorough, but with much courtesy with their security checks. I advise if you have a vehicle, reserve a spot and save some 10% with their parking lot. It's quick checking in, and pick up from the shuttle from your parking spot is every 5 to 10 minutes and it's just a 5 minute ride to the terminal. Enjoy the architecture.
Dulles International Airport was designed by Eero Saarinen, a Finnish architect, whose second wife was the younger sister of the man who married his first wife after they had divorced.
This is exactly the kind of vibe it gives off, it is characterless, sterile, and everywhere you look, it seems just slightly off. It is a great testament to the American Empire in its lack of efficiency and ruthlessness. In a way, it is more American than Starbucks.
Recently went here and I was shocked at how clean and nice this airport was. Every thing was clearly marked, we had zero trouble navigating the airport, parking lot, tickets, baggage. It was all super easy and probably one of the nicer airports I have seen for the amount of traffic through it daily. Bathrooms were even super clean, an even better plus. Recommend if you need a flight in or out of the area.
