Positive: Friendly and attentive staff. Clean rooms. Good location. Food is good at restaurants. Casino is fun, friendly, and hopping. There is cigarettes allowed in the casino but the ventilation is really good, so the smoke didn't bother us. Negative: The restaurants could be open later. The business room is NOT private so I was unable to take a conference call in the morning without the sounds of the casino in the background. A business are would be nice.
Worse check in experience. Directed to kiosk that was not properly lighted instead of personal aid. BTW I'm 76 yrs old using kiosk first time. No ice/vending machine on same floor. 2 floors away. No refrigerator or coffee maker. Matteresess were broken down and too soft. And biggest error....housekeeping needed to be requested. No longer daily tasks. When I tried to call front desk or housekeeping just beeping ...no one answered. Not all elevators were functional. Only 2 of 4-6 were functional from 19th floor. And totally failed last day. Called from cell phone direct front desk/reservation number to tell anyone we were stuck in hallway trying to get elevator to work. I understand electric outage Friday 13th night could have played in problem But All elevators did not work prior to outage. I was refunded part of costs. But "resort fees" are what? Nothing resorty feeling at all. Stay was from Wednesday Dec 11th checking out early morning Dec 14th. 2024.
The rooms are very clean. This is an older hotel that is kept clean. We did not have a microwave or refrigerator in the room. However, they are available for a fee. The room card turned off an hour before check out, and that was a problem. It is very easy to get to Fremont Street. Pizza Rock was great food. Next door to the Mob Museum. The staff in the Freedom Beat restaurant were very attentive but did not seem happy at their work. I would return during a warmer season to enjoy the pool and deck. We came in November for birthdays. Overall the staff is very friendly. Housekeeping is scheduled at a minimum (you can ask for more), although you can ask for anything, and it is brought to your room immediately.
1st time staying at the Downtown Grand & I'd definitely go back. Location is perfect for all Downtown activities. Parking garage is our only complaint, it was dirty, and the elevator was out of service, and I'm guessing for quite a while. Spend the extra money for the valet to avoid that mess. Also, check in online, as the lines for checkin were long. The casino is small, but they have an amazing hot dog & beer special, that was perfect, after driving 4hrs to get there. Overall, excellent stay and highly recommended!????????????????
The Downtown Grand Hotel is an absolute gem! Just footsteps away from the Fremont Street Experience, it's the perfect spot to enjoy all the excitement without being in the middle of the chaos. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and comfortable, with great amenities and a relaxed atmosphere. One of the best parts is that it’s not in a congested area for ride-share pickups, making it super easy to get around. The location feels safe and well-maintained—definitely not in a sketchy area. Whether you're in Vegas for the nightlife, the attractions, or just to relax, this place is a perfect base. Highly recommend! 5 stars!
We really enjoyed the room, it was clean and adequate for what we were going for. If you're going to Vegas for a music festival or something similar, this is a great place to stay. It wasn't so loud that you couldn't fall asleep. I'd say if light noise doesn't bother you, book this place, but maybe keep some earplugs handy just in case. If it does bother you, they offer free earplugs at the front desk. They also offered you a 2 for 1 pass on the Mob Museum if that's up your alley. If you're going to Vegas strictly for Vegas, stick to the strip. Otherwise, this is a nice place to stay. For a music festival weekend, the price was pretty good in comparison for places in the strip that were motels or sketchy places to stay in. The staff was relatively friendly in comparison to some of the places we went to nearby.
Great location for downtown, 2 blocks away from center of Fremont Street. Lots of places to eat and many small casinos, including one in the same building. We're disappointed to book a king suite and then get a 2 double bed room. Otherwise it was nice. We were in the newer section, and didn't hear anything from the concerts downtown which was nice.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Grand. Everything I've heard stands to be true. Great vibe, and the staff was super friendly. The gaming area was fun and had a lot of energy. The recent remodel turned out amazing. From the pool area and cabanas to the rooms, gaming, and restaurants, everything was stylish and very clean. The rooms are better than average for what you pay, so you won't be disappointed. The price point for food and drink was very reasonable. Their food is not a five-star dining quality, but it is very, very good without the huge bill to follow. The area is, well downtown. However, they've done a good job cleaning up the area. Parking can either be valet for $20.00 per day or self park at the structure across the street. This parking is free, but you must get a parking pass at the front desk. Make sure that stays in the car.
Overall, our experience was great. We had a lot of fun and will most likely be staying again.
