It was a wonderful stay. The rooms are spacious, and the accommodations are well maintained. It was a little bit difficult to find the building names as they are not numbered however, there are several maps posted throughout the area. The rooms are nicely, renovated to be a newer blue theme for Mary Poppins. If you keep detail of the tile work, then you will see that the renovations were not comprehensive because there is old tile still on the floors before the elevators and etc. I don’t wanna sound too picky, but I have stayed in many different resorts with my children as we come to Disney every other weekend and I love the accommodations and the guest services, but I wish the hotel was a little bit more well-maintained. If you pay attention to the details, you will notice several areas need to be updated as well as upkeep. But overall, it’s a wonderful and beautiful hotel, and the people who work there are very friendly.
We stayed a week during Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. We ended up in a park view room on the 4th floor, and the room had really high ceilings which made the room feel really large. We had stayed before the remodel, and I have to say that they did a really nice job-it feels really fresh and new. ||The good: |Great room|Easy to get into room/pay with magic band.|Food was very good at Citricos|Cleaning of room was as expected|Really nice updated rooms - feel bigger|The grounds were kept well|The walkway to Magic Kingdom is such a peaceful way to get to the park|Beautiful Christmas decorations in the main building, and gingerbread house|Easy to get quick service breakfast before heading to park|Spa is really nice - the girls (10 and 13) and I got manicures that were so fun!|Very nice front desk staff|Good selections in the stores| |The bad:|-When we arrived we were early and put our luggage with bell services. Once we had our room it took almost an hour to get them, and the person that brought them would not leave until we tipped ( we didn't have cash yet and were going to see if we could tip another way but decided against it.). It was very odd- we stay a lot at four seasons and other upscale places and have never encountered this|-It gets really busy in the main lobby |-Crowded in front of restaurants with people waiting (like park faire) and it gets really loud and stressful with upset kids everywhere|The character breakfast was ok but felt a bit rushed||-
We were there to see the gingerbread house. What a wonderful, magical experience! I do not like ginger in any shape or form, but I loved the little ginger bread man cookies! A fantastic nod to the fall season. Seeing the little hut as a functioning shop was so darn cute... I want to work there! The flow was set up perfectly, and the line flowed beautifully... not making the guests wait long.
Ate at the main restaurant... was excited to get in but not about the food. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the 5 stars it's been given. We were disappointed.
But the hotel itself is always so inspiring and magical!
I got to hang out with the Floral manager, who gave me wonderful meanings and hidden Mickeys all over the lobby, adding to my already magical visit. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the epitome of elegance and Disney magic combined! This resort is in a league of its own, with unmatched class, professionalism, and atmosphere. From the moment we stepped into the stunning lobby, we were transported into a world of luxury and charm.
One of the standout highlights during our stay was the life-sized gingerbread house built right inside the hotel. It’s a true masterpiece! The intricate details, the sweet aroma of gingerbread, and the festive decorations make it a must-see for anyone visiting during the holiday season. It’s not just a display—it’s an experience that perfectly embodies the holiday spirit Disney is known for.
The Grand Floridian itself is breathtaking, with Victorian-inspired architecture, beautifully landscaped grounds, and top-notch amenities. The attention to detail is everywhere, from the elegant decor to the outstanding dining options.
The staff here are exceptional. Every cast member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring our stay was nothing short of magical. They truly go above and beyond to make guests feel special.
This resort is a perfect blend of sophistication and Disney magic. Whether you’re marveling at the gingerbread house, enjoying the luxurious rooms, or simply taking in the grandeur of the surroundings, the Grand Floridian is an experience you’ll never forget. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to visit again!
An amazingly beautiful resort at Christmas, though it is good at other times too. The lobby is just breathtaking. The lobby is quite busy at Christmas due to the life size gingerbread house. The restaurants are all good here. The monorail takes you to MK and Epcot.
The hotel had beautiful theming and was conveniently close to Magic Kingdom. We dined at the quick-service restaurant multiple times and enjoyed every meal. We also ordered room service, which was delightful. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a special view of the fireworks. While we enjoyed our stay, I do wonder if it is worth the high price tag. Personally I feel you are paying more for travel convenience to Magic Kingdom rather than additional resort offerings. As the flagship resort it should go above and beyond other Disney Deluxe resorts and have extra touches that are included in the room cost.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is my favorite of the Florida Disney resorts. The main building is stunning in style and Victorian beauty. All employees were encountered over our week stay were friendly, polite, and so accommodating!
Our room was tastefully decorated and so pleasant to stay in. The beds felt great too! We had a room with an adjoining room, we didn’t use it, however we could the neighbors too well! More sound proofing needing with those adjoining doors! We could hear the daily work phone calls and nightly snoring too well!
The Housekeeping staff cleaned our room daily, and it was so nice to return to the room each day, after their careful attention. The pools and grounds are beautifully kept.
Something I appreciate about G.F. is that all buildings with the rooms are close to the main hotel, grill, restaurants, pools. (Not the case at the Coronado!)
At this hotel, the Disney Monorail, Boat, and buses are easily available to take you to the Disney Parks or Disney Springs. We look forward to our next stay at the Grand Floridian!
As a long-time Disney enthusiast with over 30 visits under my belt, I had high expectations for my first stay at the Grand Floridian, Disney's flagship resort. Having previously enjoyed numerous stays at the Beach and Yacht Club properties, I was eager to experience what is marketed as Disney's most luxurious accommodation. Unfortunately, the reality fell significantly short of expectations.
The most glaring issue was the severe understaffing throughout the property. The check-in process was unnecessarily lengthy, and attempting to reach the front desk from our room resulted in being redirected to an impersonal call center. The operators seemed unfamiliar with basic resort information and couldn't even identify which property we were calling from - a stark contrast to Disney's typically exceptional service standards.
The dining situation was particularly disappointing. Room service operates on a limited schedule with a puzzling four-hour closure between 1 PM and 5 PM. When directed to the pool bar as an alternative, we found a single overwhelmed employee attempting to manage a line of over ten guests, with only a few grab-and-go options available.
For a resort that commands premium prices and markets itself as Disney's crown jewel, these service limitations and staffing issues significantly detracted from what should have been a luxury experience. While the property itself is beautiful, the current operational standards don't justify the premium pricing or meet the level of service I've consistently experienced at other Disney deluxe resorts.
