The fanciest hotel I’ve ever been in! Chef Mickey’s for breakfast was quite excellent and I love how the motor all went through the hotel. I will definitely be coming back here. Unfortunately I never figured out how to use the coffee bar. You can really say this trip was coming full circle because my grandfather and dad stayed here when the place opened in the early 70s and then my wife, son and I had the opportunity to stay here 50 years later. Four generations of one family at the hotel was a very special thought to me and they made the experience really out of this world!
Everything was wonderful during our stay here. The location is unmatched when it comes to proximity Magic Kingdom, and I would say it is worth the additional expense.
The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help us with any of our queries, and they were especially kind and generous to our kids which made their experience all the more magical.
Facilities wise, we heavily utilised the swimming pool during our time outside of the parks, and the gym was also well equipped. Our kids loved wandering around the main foyer area which included two shops as well as a gaming arcade. Our room in the garden wing was spacious and well maintained, no complaints there from any of us.
Although we are not sure when we will return, we will 100% be staying here again.
This is my favorite hotel I've EVER stayed in. The rooms are subtly themed, we got a balcony that overlooked the magic Kingdom and could watch fireworks in the evenings if we weren't down in the park. The service is amazing from bellhops to just people in the quick little fast service food court. Walking distance to the magic Kingdom with our own security is amazing in the morning for rope dropping. And taking the monorail back from the magic Kingdom and being the first stop is pretty neat. The monorail obviously will take you other places as well, the Floridian and the Polynesian are on the monorail resort loop and it makes it very convenient for resort hopping. Two really good restaurants are part of this hotel and the hamburger at steakhouse 71 is worth just visiting the contemporary resort, but staying here is even better. There is a monorail that goes through the hotel! It is so fun and so chic and you feel super lucky to be staying there and the giant mural is everything. I hope I get to stay here again sometime. If I had to say any form of negative, it might be that you need to stay a very long time (which would be crazy expensive) in order to accomplish everything this place has to offer.
Disney's Contemporary Resort is fantastic! The sleek design, monorail access, and proximity to Magic Kingdom make it super convenient. The rooms are comfortable, and the views are stunning. Highly recommend! Enjoy Chef Mickey on the 4th floor, take the monorail to the parks, or visit one of their shops with Disney merchandise!
We went to the Contemporary for breakfast and to see the Christmas decorations. Everyone in the staff was very friendly and helpful. The decorations were very nice, but not overly fancy. The Gingerbread castle was amazing.
Character breakfast is worth every penny if you have little kids. The wait staff is by far superior to any other restaurant. The food is top notch....nothing like buffet food...fresh hot and top top quality. All the big name characters come by each table and spend time with your kids.
Very disappointed in our last stay at the Contemporary.
In short, a valet harassed us twice on two separate occasions in front of our children, unprovoked. And I literally mean unprovoked. After the first time, we reported the incident. We were told he had an anger problem and a reputation for picking fights with guests and was actually not allowed to work dayshift because of it. The second night (on my birthday to boot) he then confronted my husband for reporting the incident. My son is on the spectrum and this actually caused a full blown meltdown with him. We were told the Valet Manager would be reaching out and the Contemporary manager would be reaching out. It has been almost a month and neither have. I've only gotten the run around from Guest Services about the incidents. They actually gave me the valet company name, but of course, you can't even google them. They could not care less about how guests are treated on their property apparently.
The monorail was very easy to take, and made getting to Magic Kingdom a breeze. You also have access to buses and the water ferry. The customer service at every level was great ! Everyone was helpful and friendly.
I wish there wasn’t carpet in the hotel rooms. A different floor material would seem easier to clean with young children dropping crumbs in the rooms. The connecting rooms in the garden wing have very thin walls.
