Cheesesteaks ($14) are tasty… if you add salt & pepper, onions, and peppers.
Eat them right away, otherwise I feel like they’ll be soggy by the time you take it home.
Tues evening wasn’t busy so it was ready within 10 min. Too bad there’s no indoor seating so you can enjoy it while it’s fresh.
It was good, but because it’s takeout only, might think twice before coming all the way out here while visiting Philly.
I’m not a cheese steak connoisseur by any means but Dalessandro’s is absolutely delicious and is so much better than the cheese steaks we have back home! We got onions and extra whiz and it was absolutely mouthwatering and full of flavor! Lots of meat, fresh bread, tasty onions and whiz…. How can you go wrong!
I can see how parking may be an issue during lunch times but we were there mid-afternoon during the week and there was plenty of parking.
Sandwiches were ready super quick and the ordering process was seamless. I highly suggest sitting down at a table and eating. It’s not mobile friendly by any means!
Juicy, lots of meat, good roll, good value, and really glad they are open late. Also, the hot peppers were great! That said, as others have mentioned, the meat is not the most flavorful. Also, to be honest (and there would definitely be different opinions on this), a bit too oily for me (especially the onions). Still a treat, though.
I had a cheese steak with onions and American cheese. It was really delicious. The meat wasn't dry and it had a great taste. The cheese amount was just right and it contributed to the juiciness and the taste of the sandwich.
As you will see in the pictures,there are some outside seating available. It was cold outside but they didn't give us the option to sit inside, so I am assuming there is no indoor seating available.
Overall disappointing, got the standard cheesesteak and chicken cheesesteak with American (provolone is an upcharge) and grilled onions. Both came out bland overall, a lack of cheese and neither meat seemed seasoned well (no pepper, seemed like no salt). It's a shame because the roll is quality and the beef seemed good but the flavor wasn't there. It may just not be for me, others may enjoy that it's purely beef and roll with less cheese. The line seemed fairly quick even though it was busy (from walk up to leaving took 25 mins). Take out and cash only, they'll take your phone # to tell you when it's ready.
There are very clear pros and cons to Dalessandro’s. The pros are that the cheese steaks are generously filled with meat and are a very good portion for the price. The cons are that the meat doesn’t really have a lot of flavor, there’s not a lot of cheese in them, and the bites with no onion were just not great. For the 35 minute wait we were really expecting more. Also, they don’t have a restroom, so be prepared for that!
It’s a good Philly cheese steak? Yes.
Is it the best you can get in town? Most likely no.
Dalessandro's Steaks is a city favorite! I admire their effficency when placing orders. They text you when your order is ready and then you go to the pick up line. There was a person outside speaking to a colleague inside advising who was next in line to pick up. And as busy as it was, the staff was very friendly.
I ordered a mushroom chicken cheesesteak with fried onions, ketchup and mayo. They do not automatically add salt and pepper but ask if you would like it seasoned. My preference is fresh mushrooms and they use canned which lack flavor, so it wasn't as intense as I expected but still pretty dern delicious!! The bread is soft and fresh, which I njoy; however, it makes for a bit of a messy delicacy lol. Have plenty of napkins on hand.
They are cash only ???? and a pick up window facility. They do have a few tables outdoors that fill up quickly on a nice day.
I highly recommend you checking them out and customizing your favorite sandwich! ????
Lives up to the hype.
Great cheesesteak. I added fried onions, crushed hot peppers and sweet peppers. It was perfect. chicken cheesesteak was good too.
Good and friendly service. Seating is limited but we were able to sit and eat.
