Truly a jewel in the crown that is Northwest Arkansas, one of the newest exhibits at Crystal Bridges Museum, Exquisite Creatures, is stunningly beautiful. In fact, I spent so much time in this area of the museum, it felt like I had far too little time for the balance of the museum. If you're like me and tend to shy away from the minutiae of insects that populate our environment this time of year, you will be both fascinated and delighted at just how beautiful they can be when captured by the artists' eyes. But Exquisite Creatures doesn't stop with insects. There are birds, shells, reptiles and more, all of it stunning.
Crystal Bridges was an incredible stop on my quick trip through the area. The Exquisite Creatures exhibit was absolutely incredible! The staff and facilities were so helpful and nice, I will 100% be back again. Even if you are just driving through - make the trip! It is well worth it!
There are paid and free exhibits. I did not buy tickets in advance. I went on a Friday afternoon before a big holiday weekend and had zero wait to park or to view the exhibits. There definitely seems to be something for all ages as well.
Beautiful setting. Great place for people who love art. I loved the architecture and really appreciate that you don't have to buy tickets if you want to see the art only. Separate tickets exist for cocktail tours or drone shows. I wanted to see the drone show but had to leave early that day.
What an awesome place! I love it here. We stop there every time we go to Arkansas. I love how it is curated. This is an amazing collection of art! The docents are so friendly too! I love how spacious it is . The walking trails around the gardens is wonderful too. Im so glad they added the Frank Lloyd Wright house on the grounds. What a wonderful addition.
best art gallery! appreciate the gallery itself is free and the add ons (visiting exhibits or outdoor exhibits) are optional. they’re a bit pricey but since the museum is free it works out.
the best part of the museum is the food and drinks. they have a coffee shop, restaurant and a great happy hour. would 10/10 recommend coming for happy hour, it’s such a beautiful view and the drinks are so yummy!
It’s a nice place to kill time while drinking your coffee in the cafe. They have nice souvenirs but a little pricey maybe because the museum doesn’t have a fee to enter. Which is a plus. I was able to get coloring stuff which is free too. I like that they keep the inside cool even though it was cool outside. We weren’t able to look for parking immediately, we just waited and drove around for parking to nearest entrance. One of the elevators was out of order and we had to wait for the one and only elevator. We had a baby with us so we needed the elevator for the stroller.
This is a beautiful art museum. I love the outside walkway with the art pieces lining the path. This is where the Frank Lloyd Wright building is located. The giant sphere is really pretty as well. The skylight in the lobby is gorgeous and so is the ceiling by the restaurant. The building itself is massive and surreal. It's really neat to look at the building from the 4th floor glass patio. I didn't realize how big this museum was. We didn't have enough time to see all of it so, we will have to go back when we come back to Arkansas.
This is a world class museum. The structures themselves are architectural marvels laid into the landscape in brilliant and unique ways. Even the freaking dam underneath is innovative (take the free tour).
On top of that the free collections that you can just go see anytime are fantastic and varied. There's a lot to walk around for or just sit and get comfortable. I haven't even gone to a pay exhibit yet, but will in the future.
I can't really understand someone not visiting if they are anywhere in NW Arkansas. It's worth the trip, multiple times and people in the wider region should be taking advantage too.
