A great mall with a great selection of stores, all the employees we ran into were super friendly and upbeat. Bonus points for an impromptu family picture with Santa too. The food court has a good selection of places to eat and the restrooms where clean and tidy. Overall, a great spot!
Lots of stores and shops, clean. Good assortment of restaurants (special shout out to the Korean hot dog place). We bought or considered buying a variety of things from protein bars, clothes, to trampoline excersize time. We went space mini golfing. It was cool on a hot day. Enough people to feel bustling without being crowded.
Crossgates Mall in Albany is a standout shopping and entertainment destination. It’s refreshing to see a mall that is still thriving during a time when so many others are in decline. The variety of shops, from big-name brands to smaller, unique stores, keeps the experience engaging for all visitors.
What really makes this place shine is its range of entertainment options. Whether it’s catching a movie, dining at one of the many restaurants, or trying out fun activities like indoor mini-golf or escape rooms, there’s always something to enjoy. Crossgates Mall proves that malls can still be vibrant and exciting hubs for the community. It’s well worth a visit!
I've read some bad reviews or redditt posts about the safety of this place made me concerned as a non local. But being there on a Friday afternoon and early evening on the last day of public school it felt safe to me. The mall has a rule that all minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and a visible and sizeable security. There's some young adults into goth or punk which may seem intimidating to younger generations who don't know about it or haven't been to a hot topic(yes there is one). But I didn't observe any rowdy youth. The mall decor and feel was very similar to Roosevelt field mall. My main complaints was that the touchscreen mall directory is confusing as it doesn't clearly show which floor a store you're looking for is on. Then most perplexing is that there's no major sign pointing out the direction to the food court. Then I don't know if this a normal occurrence but there was no AC in the food court. However the mall earns a like from me given the breadth of stores, entertainment like D&B plus other arcade options, and having one of the few Lego stores in NY
Beautiful mall, has a lot of stores but not overwhelmingly so. There is also plenty of novelty stores which I enjoyed especially for Christmas shopping.
The shopping center is truly wonderful. Yes, its stores, all the bathrooms are Wow, excellent. The only thing I can say about this is a food stand called TACO BELL. Its employees are very despotic and have zero empathy towards visitors. They stand there to criticize and make fun of the people who frequent the place... I, for my part, will not consume there again.
Funny bones was fun. I was on the phone with my boy Adam Sandler, and of course, I ran into Adams best friend what a night.
Went for Christmas shopping. Wanted to support the mall and it's stores instead of ordering everything online. $40 for a picture with Santa at the only Christmas decorated part of the mall. That's right. $40....to have your kid sit on Santa's lap at a mall. Put some decorations up. Get the stores involved. Or don't and be empty like all the other malls. Try next year.
