I'm here for an event at the Coushatta Pavilion and staying in the 7 Tribes hotel at the Coushatta. The shuttle service is great! The drivers are friendly, they're quick and clean. The rooms are nice with mini fridge available. The beds aren't top notch, but I had a great night's sleep so that's a win. I did notice a STRONG urine smell around the toilet. It's very off-putting. The TV is on it's last leg with a large dark spot in the middle of the screen. But still watchable
I've never been to a casino before and the "service" there is why I put 3 stars.
I got my players card and was handed instructions for how to operate it at the machines. But I was not told how to add money to the card to continue playing. I went to the casino host and told her I'd never been to a casino and would like to know how to keep playing. She said "Just get more money out of an ATM and put it in any of the machines." I was confused because I didn't understand how it would be put on my card (remember I'm a complete novice). Seeing my confused face she said "You don't put it on your card, you put the cash directly into the machine. All of the machines are equipped to do it." I still didn't understand but she kept saying "it'll work" so I just left. After going through the motions I NOW understand that to play anything you always have to insert your card first, so whatever cash you put in the machine "gets put on" your card. What I don't understand is how to leave a machine without cashing out. Do you always have to cash out? Can it be left on your card as a credit to play at another machine? I never found out. Then my new problem was what to do with the cash out tickets. Luckily I found a machine that said "ticket redemption" but I wasn't sure what to do because there are a lot of slots and not much instruction. I watched someone else do it and that's how I figured that out. Also, if your cash out is less than a dollar you just lose it because the machine doesn't give change. For someone completely new to all things casino I felt very uncomfortable and this experience only convinced me that the casino is not a place for me. The staff spoke kindly but ultimately didn't help me at all and made me feel like a moron. At least the hotel is a nice stay.
We booked two nights in advance for a getaway a little different from the Lake Charles experience. Slots were pretty generous and table roulette was only $10! The Terrace Cafe & Sky Steakhouse were both superb. But don’t go till Thursdays because nothing is open. No bingo or boutiques. Pool was closed also. Since there is literally nothing else to do there (unlike GN & LB in Lk Charles) we decided one night would have plenty. Full price for rooms was $209 & $249 but we got the military discount bringing it down somewhat. Rooms nice & clean with comfortable beds. We stayed in The Grand Hotel. I would suggest they add more amenities in their new construction to compete with Lake Charles. Love the Coushatta exhibits, keep highlighting the culture!
Had a blast. Very clean including restrooms ???? ???? cool and friendly staff. The restaurants inside were great ???? They even had reasonable rates for my favorite tables. Will go back and recommend to other!
Was very disappointed with our experience here. For starters I am aware that this place is a casino and mainly to accommodate gamblers but we went for the other amenities. We don’t drink or smoke or gamble- lesson learned. I did not like that you had to constantly walk through the Smokey casino to get to restaurants and shops. We had to continually walk our two year old through smoke. All the restaurants were also open to the casino so you had to smell and inhale smoke the entire time you ate. We brought two teenagers and they could not go anywhere without us the whole time. They couldn’t even go to Starbucks without an adult. We could not even walk outside to another building to avoid the casino because the entire parking lot was under construction. Due to this construction we lost water for a whole night. Our room was clogged and every restroom in the lobby was full of number 2. There were restaurants and a boutique in our hotel seven clans which is one reason we chose it. To be able to eat and avoid the casino. All 3 establishments were closed for our entire stay. The only store open was the gift shop which was off the red carpet so the teenagers couldn’t even go shop. We put our 2 year old at kid quest and would call the front desk multiple times for an update on our son and no one would answer. Lastly I called the place multiple times since leaving to retrieve my pillow that was left behind. They said they never found it. Which is simply untrue being it was A big pillow in a gray pillow case and their pillows were TINY and in white pillow cases. So it was Tossed or stolen and we were lied to. There is no tubs in the kid friendly hotel rooms. Most children and babies don’t shower. So we had to hand wash my 2 year old for 4 days. There was no room service, guest services, the front desk seemed to never answer. It was Just not at all a great experience. We will never be returning.
It’s under construction so parking lot is no more. Our room was not clean. Bathroom was dirty air conditioning hot inside the entire facility except for the room. AC was good there.
Had a great Valentines Day with my Sweetie at the Casino.
We spent 2 nights at the Seven Clans Hotel and was impressed by the service AND Security at the Hotel. I'm not a high roller but felt like I was being treated like one. Casino slots were fun. Eat at any of the restaurants and you will not be disappointed. We especially liked the moderate priced Terrace cafe for the menu
(Gumbo was GREAT) and excellent service.
Watch your speed going through the towns to get there...now you have been warned.
A number of issues at this casino. Few table games and, of those available, less than half were open regardless of the time. You are only allowed 1 drink every 20 minutes and if it's anything other than a beer, it's in a microscopic Dixie cup filled with ice. When we found a machine we liked and it was going very well, the machine froze, had to be rebooted, and though we got our voucher out for the amount of money put in, our game progress was reset and so our money up to that point was basically wasted. No solution was offered.
This is truly my favorite casino. They have all of the new games first before the other casinos. I just wish it was a little bit closer. In the time. that I've already made it and been gambling for an hour at Lauberge and 2 hours at Delta I would just be arriving at Coushatta. Living in Texas and having to get back to work frequently it doesn't always leave time to make the 4 hour drive there unfortunately. The showers in the Grand hotel and 7 Clans are to die for!!!
