Had a great Saturday lunch and did some shopping for a number of items. Definitely worth a visit. Come when you're hungry but stick around for some shopping. There is something for everyone. Meats, cheeses, and assorted items to make a great Italian meal at home. Perhaps pick up just a dessert to cap off your next meal or as a great gift idea. Highly recommend a visit the next time you're in the area.
Very cool building and location. Prices were high, and food was average. $5 for one meatball? The desserts looked good, but we didn't partake. The pizza, pasta and chicken Parm were lacking, but not awful.
First time here and wow did they impress. The selection of food was amazing and the taste was even better. Sort of cafeteria style playing, so a mix of sit down and fast food; however, the food was great. Fun atmosphere and awesome history. Once you are done dining there is a massive Italian grocery section and a huge dessert and coffee bar. I highly recommend checking this multi-story truly Italian place out.
Deli and bakery are not to be missed. Meatballs were tough. Pizza bread and baked goods were excellent, would make a trip back for those as well as try a deli sandwich. Arancini was dry, but flavorful. Was hoping for better marinara, the sauce just didn’t hit for us. Would like to try the pizza and other items to decide if we should add this to our rotation.
This is the type of Italian Market that should be in all major areas. It’s made up of 3 parts. A cafeteria style hot food area where you can get subs, pastas, pizza and other Italian favorites.
Then there is a true Italian market. There you’ll find deli meats and cheeses, prepared meals like lasagna and chicken Marsala to heat and eat at home, fresh breads and sooooo much more. It’s a little pricey, but you are paying for good quality items and for the fact that most things are hard to find in the area.
The last area is the desserts area. Long display case of pastries, cookies and more. LOTS of classic Italian favorites. Lobster tails and cannolis are my recommendation. Both hit the spot and also were great buys for the price point. The desserts all looked fantastic, but for me, many are just not worth the price. Don’t be turned away though. Plenty of economical options, as well as options for those looking to splurge.
Overall, this was a fun experience that I look forward to doing again.
Delicious food with lots of authentic choices. Everything about this place is amazing. If you haven’t ever been there, put it on your list. Make sure you save room for dessert
Stopped in for lunch. Downstairs was busy, but the rooftop was empty. The food was very good, but service struggled a little. I was surprised at how good the burger was at an Italian restaurant. Could use more pieces of toast for the "caprese salad." Ceasar salad was not traditional and tasted quite bland - could use some anchovies or fresh cracked black pepper. Bottom line, I will definitely be back to try out some more choices off the menu.
Maybe my friends have hyped up this place too much, and maybe it's because I've eaten upstairs at Louis Ristorante, but I wasn't blown away by the food at Cossetta's. I had the Chicken Marsala, which had a good flavor, but it was a bit salty. My sister had the Chicken Cacciatore, which didn't look good and was like soup. I probably should've gotten the lasagna or the pizza. We did try the pizza, but that was also quite salty. I don't really think it was that much cheaper than the surrounding restaurants in the area, though.
I did buy and enjoy several desserts at the bakery. That's the best part of this place-- extremely well-made dessert!
