I came in last month and was seen by a NP (I believe it was Jennifer Wood but I can’t be sure, I’d have to pull my paperwork). I went in with a cough, on and off fever, and extremely sore throat. I get sinus infections pretty regularly so I thought it was that. The NP clearly didn’t like that I had thoughts on what it could be. She was in the room for maybe 5 minutes, checked my ears, did NOT check my lungs despite a history of asthma, and told me I was wrong and just had a cold. I was a bit distressed because I was getting married that weekend and she told me, in a rather nasty tone, “well you won’t be better by Saturday but have fun!” Wrote me a script for ibuprofen, and left.
I got so sick that by Thursday I couldn’t speak at all and had to go to another urgent care. I was given steroids both in office and at home to deal with the inflammation in my throat, an antibiotic, a cough suppressant, and instructions for what decongestants to use. I am lucky a different doctor treated me with empathy and actually listened to my explanations/symptoms or I wouldn’t have been able to speak at my own wedding, let alone attend the reception.
That NP was so dismissive and condescending that I will NEVER use another Cooper facility again. I’ve already found a new GP, have told my local friends and family to avoid this office, and will only utilize Cooper again if I have no other choice. The two stars are ONLY for the other staff I interacted with that were polite and empathetic, and the nurse who spent more time with me doing vitals and asking me questions than the NP spent with me overall.
I came to this urgent care with my young child b/c I didn’t have childcare at the time. The nurse was asking me a medical question. My child then asked me what did that nurse mean. I told my young child that it was an adult topic. The nurse spoke over me and explained the topic to my child. It was completely inappropriate and under-minded me as a parent. I will NEVER come back to this urgent care.
The ladies at the front desk and the nurse that took my vitals were all very kind and sweet! However, the doctor/np I saw was WILDLY condescending. You deal with sick people every day and all you did was make me feel worse.
What a bad experience when you aren’t feeling well. The 2 stars are for the front desk staff who were nice and friendly working on Labor Day. Once I was taken back I was first informed Covid testing isn’t covered and will cost an additional $60-200 (seriously, even .. after my copay) I came in with I guess cold/flu symptoms and bad ear pain ..thank god I took a Covid test at home prior which was negative. then once I saw The APN the only thing she did at all was look in my ears. As she was walking out after ONLY looking in my ears was she asked if I was Coughing anything up.. I said Yes so she ordered an x ray… WITHOUT LISTENING TO MY CHEST. I’m not one for leaving bad reviews but isn’t that kinda like… weird? Anyways considering I have artificial parts in my heart and wires in my chest and none of that’s indicated on the paperwork, I guess They didn’t look. She didn’t even look in my nose or throat. The chest xray without listening to my lungs was the weirdest flex though, again I’m not a doctor but it was quite the jump
I have been to this location multiple times and always had a great experience. Was there on 5/31/24 and it was not so good. We were treated by a Dr. Jennifer Goldberg. From the moment she entered the exam room, I felt like she had made a premature diagnosis of why we were there and basically dismissed what we believed the issue was. She was condescending and arrogant and did not put us at ease. After her exam and a couple tests, she came back in the room, with her tail semi tucked between her legs, and told us what we felt was our issue was indeed our issue. She gave us medication but we are doubtful to go back in case she is on duty. How can a physician act like this in 2024 when I have plenty of options for my healthcare? On the other hand our nurse, Nettie, was amazing and so was the check in staff.
First I went to this urgent care to see if I had covid. I was told they no longer do covid tests so I had to pay my $35 copay and go get a home test.
Two weeks later I came back because I had a sinus infection from the covid. I saw Dr Tyler Shapiro. He was dismissive and told me immediately that I did not need antibiotics. I was really upset because I felt so bad that I cried all the way out the door. It was a Saturday but I called my GP who saw me immediately.
My GP said I had a very serious sinus infection my eye was puffy my teeth were hurting on the top and my sinuses were very congested.
She prescribed me a round of steroids and a heavy duty antibiotic.
I've been going to this urgent care for over 10 years with my entire family.
I don't know what happened that I was treated so poorly.
There are so many different options for urgent Care I'm never going back here.
RN’s and physicians are unfriendly and make you feel as though what you are coming in for is not important- which is shortness of breath, coughing, body aches, chills, tight chest, sore throat. Government no longer covers flu or Covid and no way to determine if your insurance will cover either test and then get billed. No one has a specific dollar amount. I felt like an idiot explaining the front desk, RN and Doc- 3 individual times. Do they not look at the chart? Same in with a notepad, no knowledge of my history or meds and acted as if this is no big deal. Last time I felt like this I had walking pneumonia that was missed diagnosed by doctors who want to brush you off. I live down the street, it’s convenient. My doctor told me to come here. So I did. Checking in team is awesome!
This was only my second time here and it was very pleasant, although I wasn't feeling well. The staff at the front desk(s) are very warm and welcoming and the wait wasn't too long to go back to a room. The Drs and nurses actually listened,I got what I needed and was out in no time. Highly recommend (for non-emergency situations)
