I really don’t get the hype around this place—it’s definitely overrated. Whenever I visit a new city, I love checking out famous markets because they usually have so much character, but Chelsea Market just didn’t live up to the expectation. The whole vibe felt kind of forced and commercialized, not the charming, quirky atmosphere I was hoping for. On top of that, the meal I had was insanely overpriced for what it was, and to be honest, it didn’t even taste good. I left feeling pretty let down. Definitely won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Chelsea Market was a food paradise. There were so many shops lined up that just browsing was enjoyable, but the lines were long, requiring some patience. The fresh seafood stores were particularly impressive, and we had lobster, which was tender and juicy, melting in our mouths. The clam chowder had a rich flavor that was truly exceptional. It will remain one of the most memorable culinary experiences from my time in New York.

Food galore at Chelsea Market! This indoor market was a great location for shopping and eating a wide variety of food! If you’re traveling and want a taste of New York make this market a must go!
Best advice would be to eating small portions to try a variety of food.
One place on your visit to Downtown Manhattan definitely has to be this place, there is so many delicious restaurants to try from and I mean the shopping here is some of the best. I love to come here on Saturday nights sometimes, they have a DJ that plays salsa and the different dance communities come together to dance from 7-10 pm. I would keep an eye out for any event, since it’s not always a year around type of thing. Got love the places that allow this type of event to go down, there is also a near by bar to grab a drink in the basement.

New York is an awesome city for foodies and the Chelsea Market do offers some of the best food. This awesome indoor market is basically a paradise for anyone who loves to eat and try new things. More than 40 stalls are serving up delicious meals from all over the world.
From doughnuts to noodles, tacos, and New York-style pizza, the Chelsea Market has pretty much every kind of food you could dream of! Plus, there are cool boutique stores and a small farmers’ market to check out.
History: Built in the 1890s, Chelsea Market was originally the site of the National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) factory complex. (The famous Oreo cookie was invented and produced here!)
Whilst strolling through the center of Chelsea Market, it’s hard to miss the machine-made wishing well. With water constantly flowing from the pipes it’s a place to close your eyes and make a wish as you chuck your dimes and nickels.
I would recommend visiting Chelsea Market, not only for the incredible selection of foods on offer but also to browse the stalls and soak up the amazing atmosphere of this incredible complex.
