Wasn't busy at all. Not a lot of people out this night. We came at a great time. Parked on the street less than half a mile away and walked so we didn't have to pay for $20 parking. Had a great time. Had strong drinks. Did a horse carriage ride for the first time, and it was great.
Cool place to walk about, drink, and eat. Lots of cool blues history. Didn't are for the hawkers trying to lure you into their bars. All it really takes is a little live music seeping out.
As a touristy district, the collection of neon is a photographer’s dream. The collection of restaurants and shops really sets the scene. For the most part, this area is exactly as one would expect. The atmosphere is inviting, making it desirable to simply walk the street and hang out for a while.
Definitely the place to be if you ever visit Memphis!! Don't call it the entertainment district for nothing!! Food, drinks and music!! You're welcome to walk the street with your drink but must stay in the district. Live music everywhere!! Horse and carriage rides. Have to pay to park. Heavy police presence, even horseback patrol.
Place was a little dead but to be fair we went Monday at 10 pm (passing through on a road trip). Music was phenomenal and really enjoyed my time listening to the band perform. As a vegan, food was pretty limited. Had the fried mushrooms, fried pickles, and fried green tomatoes. All were ok definitely needed seasonings.
Beale Street Entertainment District is a must-visit for anyone coming to Memphis! We visited during the day around lunchtime over Labor Day weekend and loved the lively atmosphere. The street is filled with the sounds of live music, from blues to rock and soul, spilling out from every corner. Even during the day, the vibe is vibrant, with a great mix of locals and tourists enjoying the music, food, and street performances.
We had a fantastic lunch at one of the restaurants, soaking in the flavors of Memphis. The area felt safe and welcoming, and it was the perfect way to experience the city's rich musical heritage. Beale Street is definitely a highlight of any trip to Memphis!
First time to Beale Street, although we did go during an off peak time, I enjoyed the music. I was just expecting more. If we get back to this area, I may try again
Towards night fall it is not the best for children, lots of 21+ places and the little shops tend to close. However, we experienced it both midday and early evening and even watched into the night from our hotel room. Such a wonderful strip to listen to Blues watch entertainers and take in the part of Memphis that is so famous.
