My absolute favorite casino! They're always giving away free overnight stays and buffet dinners just for signing up & being a member! Their food court is amazing. And they're much more interacting than other casinos. You don't have to get out of your seat for change or something to drink. They come to you! Just a great, fun, atmosphere!! I love it ????????????????
We went to the casino. We didn’t stay at the hotel. The hotel is only on a comp basis so us low rollers don’t get a chance to stay there. That’s too bad since it’s about 30 min drive from Mira Mesa.
The casino was great. It seemed big, the slots are not squished together. It’s non smoking which is fantastic. When we go to Las Vegas, we hate the secondhand smoke but it’s part of the Vegas experience. They have hand sanitizer stations everywhere. Great for the germaphobes. The food court offers lots of choices. The Asian food restaurant was busy but the food came out quickly.
We signed up for the players card. After playing our favourite slots we wanted to get a late lunch. Went to the Barona Club desk to see if we had any points for comps and I was surprised, I was upgraded to Gold status plus $20 food comp. after some more slot play, we wanted to get some dinner and got another $15 food comp. never had any comps from other casinos. Thank you Barona!
We even had a casino host come over to introduce himself. Never had that experience in Las Vegas. Ironically, we are going to Las Vegas next and we would have been happy to have stayed nearby and play here instead. The background music wasn’t too loud as some other casinos and it just seemed more enjoyable. The staff are very friendly always smiling.
They have about 7 EV chargers on the level 3 and all free. There were some on level 1 but couldn’t find them. They may have more on the other levels.

Rating the casino only. First of all, the casino is totally non-smoking. I love that, and give ownership kudos on willingness to do that. On top of that, it's the cleanest casino I've ever been in...casino floor, machines, restrooms, everything. Staff is very friendly. My experience, in 3 visits, is that the slots have better frequency of payouts than most casinos I've been in in other parts of the country.
Barona Casino is 18+. It does not serve alcohol. Unless you ate at the Italian restaurant and must consume all before you leave.| |We parked at the South entrance which is an outdoor lot with shuttle (golf cart) service or you can proceed to park in the five level parking structure and enter the North entrance.||By far this is my favorite SD casino. Super clean air, because there’s no alcohol, people are sober and alert. The casino floor, especially the slots were packed. So lively!||They were voted the loosest slots in town and I witnessed that to be true on multiple occasions. After midnight, it was hard to find an empty seat.||They had one crap table and it’s the longest I’ve ever seen. My dices kept on spinning. Next to it was an electronic crap table which was normal size. It’s all California crap/roulette with the cards.||Minimum was $10 but it can increase at night, weekends or holidays.||I didn’t see any sports booking area but saw a huge chipless electronic machine area to play all your card games.||They got rid of the buffet during pandemic. There’s a cafe, Italian restaurant, VIP dining area and the food court.||We got coffee from Barona Cafe. They asked if you want ice, hot, or blended. I got blended Coffee Toffee whip cream. ||The food court has bánh mì, soup, Chinese, churros, hot dogs, burgers, pizzas, Mexican, pretty much every cuisine.||We ordered from Three Amigos World Famous Tacos for $2 each. I have to say, they’re not World Famous for nothing! It was yummy! We got carnitas, carne asada, and chicken.||Love this property but wish there was a mocktail bar or live music. They had a boom box cart that went around blasting music. Also a Free drink cart. There’s also a hotel.||All the attendants were super friendly. The parking attendant would wave to you as you drove in the parking lot, at the escalator, outdoor entrance, indoor and you felt welcomed all around.||You can also tier match if you have a higher tier elsewhere.
I can't rate the rooms because I only went for the day to gamble. But guest services (Tom) was an amazing employee when he was signing my mother up for her players card. He's fun, nice and very informative. So many laughs while taking care of us. Made us feel very comfortable and ready to play!
I love the fact that it's a smoke-free casino and good food options in the food court. A beautiful casino floor overall.

I haven't been here in nearly 18 years. The road there is still bad. No smoking at all inside which is fine I don't smoke but it feels odd for a casino. Loosest slots is a joke motto, and no I'm not mad because I didn't become instant rich on a $20 bill, the machines are tight. Not even small hits between the 4 of us that went.
No self serve drinks, only from cart pushers. Not really a knock but kinda irritating to myself personally.
I've also been told that you can't even rent a room here now unless you're a diamond member? That's ridiculous.
This casino was popping a decade or two ago. People laughing, crowded the whole casino vibe. Now? It's quiet. Relatively empty and honestly feels soulless.
I was looking forward to visiting barona on my trip to Cali. Now I can honestly say I'll never come back.
The room was beautiful! So clean and fresh. Nice view over a small waterfall with surrounding plants. I loved it. Best thing!!! SMOKE FREE!!! The staff was very helpful, courteous and had no problem with answering questions. Quick and efficient! Location is good. Its not to far yet away from the everyday grind. My friend and I had a blast while enjoying a much needed reprieve. To say we had a lovely time was probably an understatement. Wished I'd taken pictures.
It was a great experience! We went early and it was my 18 year olds first time. She tripled her money lol. The staff was extremely helpful and kind!
