Nice hole in the wall with quick quality seafood bites. Real nice staff and very accommodating venue. Both indoor and outdoor dining. We chose indoor because of the wind but still had a great time. The Frozé was a hit and very enjoyable. The salmon bowl is a must!!!! Delicious! Crab cake sandwich was small in size but tasty. Fish sandwich gets a 2/5- not much flavor. Fish tacos get a 3/5. Nicely paired with fries.
Stopped by in mid May to order the soft shell crab with fried oysters. They were pretty good. However my fries were almost cold and it wasn’t so busy to over look cold fries.
The patio is covered decently with strong fans to combat the heat.
Cute little place with a ton of seating! We had the crab cakes and pulled pork sandwich. Both were quick, hot and delicious.
Truly fantastic value on King St!
First visit, and it’s on my list to try again. I had the Blackened Shrimp Tacos which were very delicious. They even wrapped them in lettuce for me! The Asian Slaw is tasty, simple and refreshing.
Calamari was so good, and a great value. I almost ordered one to go for later because I just wanted more of it. Lightly breaded, with a lemon and some sweet chili dipping sauce.
Prices were very good for King St. Almost every entree was under $20. Sodas are by the bottle.
Atmosphere is good, the vide is very fun, but the furniture is pretty basic. Tables and chairs wobbled a bit. Condiments and paper towels on each table.
Overall, the service was great. Simple counter ordering, and they bring the food. The team was quick and efficient and happily recommended the blackened shrimp when asked. Then checked in later to make sure things were good.
Can’t fault a good meal at a good price. I’ll be back for sure.
Came here on a whim looking for some decent seafood in South Carolina and we really enjoyed it. Personally, getting the soft shelled crab po-boy, I was really impressed. I'm not a seafood connoisseur by any means, but it was some of the better crab I've had with an amazing spicy sauce on top. The sit down environment was nice and cool from the busy street and we felt like it was a nice break from the congestion of downtown. There's also no weight which was a big deal for us and they were able to seat the party of eight plus two kids without much of a problem.
Cool little spot right on King! There’s indoor and outdoor seating right along the sidewalk. The menu had a solid amount of choices that all sounded great. I got the tuna bowl which was excellent! Perfect for a bite and break from shopping while downtown. Definitely recommend!!
Stopped in for a quick bite in late afternoon. Not crowded, the shrimp tacos and hush puppies were delicious. Outdoor patio was nice.
Food was awful. With a name like AW Shucks you'd think they would be providing the best oysters in the area especially with how much they charge. Ordered 6 raw oysters, all were a bit past prime and had little moisture. Three were quite dried out and smelled of low tide, did not eat. I ordered fried platter of oysters and fish. The fish appeared to be a food service frozen cod, in Charleston, a coastal town. I ate three fried oysters out of the 9 I was served. The third stopped me in my tracks. It was so rotten that I had to eject it from my mouth immediately. The other person in my party ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were cooked properly and nothing was past date but was served with either cheap food service brown gravy or quite burnt roux based gravy, it was hard to tell. I ordered half and half sweet tea, it smelled of oyster shells in the sun, could not drink. The can of beer we got was warm because, according to the cashier, he had just stocked the warm drinks in front of the cold ones in the cooler - got a replacement. Food was ordered an hour before kitchen closed and there were a few orders after us so they can't blame this on it being end of the day issues. The total for this horrendous meal before tip was $74 and change. I didn't bother to bring this up to Stevie the cashier because he appeared to be relatively clueless, he was the one who stocked the beverage cooler incorrectly. There did not appear to be a manager on duty either.
