Best WLM Reviews
I'm actually shocked by these negative reviews. Is this place the best bar I've ever been to, or is it some kind of exquisite fine dining? No. But, is the food still really tasty? Definitely.
I tried a few of their items. Their food is a bit more expensive than other neighboring bars, but it's darn good. I tried the Amish pierogis and the cheesesteak with white cheese whizz.
The pierogis were absolutely amazing. Genuinely the best I've had in a long time, maybe ever. The potatoes are creamy and the dough is crispy on the outside. The side dipping sauce as a hint of spice and it's also creamy. Way better than just regular sour cream. I would highly recommend them.
The cheesesteak was only okay. The chicken "steak" was pretty well made and decently tender. The cheese was a little artificial, but not bad. Bread was also just okay. A little more expensive but a good portion. The coleslaw was pretty bad. Did not seem fresh, to be honest.
All in all, it's a great bar in this area. The pierogis were especially amazing. Definitely recommend them!
3.5 stars. Your classic American sports bar. The food was pretty good. I got the hot barbecue wings with tots and the giant hot pretzel. The portion sizes are ginormous, so be prepared to take home left overs!
I personally loved "The Big Pretzel", it was buttery, salty, and slightly sweet, but in a good way! However, I must add that the beer cheese was not particularly the best. It was alright when it was warm, but it quickly cooled and solidified and became a glue-like consistency. I could, quite literally, hold it upside down like a dairy queen blizzard, and it wouldn't fall. Overall, it's a great pretzel! The cheese just needs a bit of tweaking.
One of the top spots in Lancaster if you are looking to watch your favorite team or a fight. One of the few spots that don’t make you pay a cover. Your typical sports bar food is super consistent and always good. Dominique is also one of the best bartenders around. No matter how busy it is, she is super efficient. They always seem to not have items they put on special, and there always seems to be TV’s out of service.
Tiny French fries now. Not sure what happened to this place. You can count the fries on your plate here now. (They tell you it's now pre-portioned in the kitchen) Aroogas you used to be so good! Even the runner says they "are stingy"
Arooga was your typical sports bar. They have a large menu. I got the Quesadilla and it was quite good. One of our party got the fish and chips and the only complaint after a few of us tasting the tartar sauce was it tasted rancid. The salads were decent. The overall appearance of Aroogas could use some help it's pretty run down inside, the bathrooms were rough. Overall it was okay I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to go back though.
We had a perfect late night dinner here. Waitress Ann was especially friendly and relatable, we loved having her!! Our food was delicious, although it wasn’t the hottest. I have no complaints about the night.
If you are looking for a place where the table is so dirty that your forearms stick to it this place is for you! If you are looking for a place where it looks like they haven't mopped a floor in centuries this place is for you! If you are looking for greasy nasty food that is below mediocre this place is for you. The water tasted like what I imagine came from the toilet. The pizza tasted like it came from the freezer. Chuckie cheese would be an upgrade to this. The ladies bathroom was absolutely disgusting, and the toilet paper dispenser was falling off the wall. My 30 lb. toddler sat on the toilet and it felt like it was going to fall over. The only compliment I have to offer is the fries were good. This place really needs to be closed for a day and cleaned....
