Best WLM Reviews
I walked here from the convention center in less than 10 minutes. This place reminds me of the old Hot Shoppes. I got salmon and 3 sides (green beans, mashed potatoes and cinnamon sugar apples) along with a cornbread muffin and strawberry pie. I’ve never had that kind of pie before but it was very light and refreshing. Yum yum yum. Like home cooking. Reasonable price too. I got there about 11:45 am Monday and there was no line. Lots of places to sit and clean restrooms.
Step back into a nostalgic time of life when life seemed simpler. I intentionally came on Tuesday, on my way to the airport. I ordered the grouper, which was stellar. I live in Florida right now, and grouper is my favorite. The grouper here was the fluffiest I've ever had. And I've had a lot. It's worth going out of my way, and I plan to return in the future. I got the green beans and their chicken and dumplings as a side. I'm originally from Colorado, and I ate here with my mom, so it's not my Mama's chicken and dumplings. That said, if you're used to the southern version, it's yummy. My parents tried the grouper and loved it. The chocolate chess pie is very sweet.
I recommend stopping in. Had that Southern charm, and the aroma is just what you'd expect and want to smell when eating Southern.
Roast beef was 80% scrap and inedible, see photos. Fried green tomatoes has sugar on them......really! I have an extreme sugar allergy but even if I didn't I don't want sugar on my tomatoes. Meal for 2 was fifty bucks, left most of it on the table. We'll pass this place by next time and recommend you do the same, or at least bring your checkbook and don't get roast beef.
honestly, best food i’ve had in a while. the owner (arnold’s son) was honestly the best. he came and spoke to us and gave us some desserts even gave a homeless guy some food before they closed! highly recommend. BANANA PUDDING IS A MUST
Food is overly salted in general. I couldn’t eat the greens because of it, and I love salt. Same for the mac and cheese. First time here, so don’t know it that is usual. However, damn good brisket and cornbread and might be the best bread pudding ever! Super friendly—real Southern hospitality.
Here are some tips. It is only open until 2:45 and it gets really crowded by noon. Come late or early. Use cash because they will charge an extra 3.4% otherwise. It’s advertised as Meat and three, but you pay less if you get less. Appetizers and desserts are not included in the three. Parking is free even though it is a paid lot.
Iconic Nashville restaurant that I’ve been lucky to enjoy for a very long time now. Nashville needs to work to keep small iconic businesses like this in business and stop with the outrageous property taxes. It’s places like this that make Nashville a truly great city. Support small businesses like this Nashville, that have helped make you such a popular destination! I’ll stop with my rant there.
If you haven’t been here, it’s a real treat. The James Beard award winning restaurant is by far the best meat and three that middle Tennessee has to offer. It really is spectacular and a place you don’t need to miss. On this visit I heard a first timer ask the line server what’s good? She said everything. No truer words have been spoken! Everything is indeed good and is likely better than any place you have had. On this visit I had cornbread dressing, which I don’t even like cornbread dressing, but this is what this place will do to you! Everything was outstanding!
This is exactly what country cooking should be! It is some of the best southern food I have ever had. They had a ham carving station which is always nice and my kids said they had the best macaroni and cheese ever. The staff is very friendly and a sizable portion of their customers when I was there seemed to be locals.
Arnold's is among my favorite places to eat in Nashville. You cannot beat a good meat-&-3. So glad they decided to reopen. Best roast beef anywhere!
