Nice in its simplicity & authenticity. It's a very welcoming & homely local family run place. The outside could use some TLC, but the inside did look clean & upkept from what I could see, even though some of the furniture is a bit dated. It does add a little to its charm though, must say. The salsa had a little bite, the queso was great. The beef enchiladas my friend had were great and my other friends quesadilla. Service was friendly and kept checking in.
The reasons for the lesser rating on the food is while dishes were enjoyed, a couple things on the menu weren't appealing. The prices seemed quite high for the level of cuisine. Secondly, beverages were listed at 3.30 per (16oz cups I think) and limited to 1 free refill. Lastly, 2 of our dishes weren't what we expected or worked for us. The carne guisada was a little spicier that I was looking for, nor the meat as tender as expected. I'm sure people love it however. Also the chicken enchilada pie listed and described as a casserole, it simply seemed like a double stuffed enchilada and so it seemed more a flop.
We had ciicken quesadillas & the combo ground taco /cheese enchiladas plate. First really like their salsa- not too hot not too mild. Just right. My buddy really enjoyed his chicken quesadillas.
Mine was a different story- the ground beef taco was the worst taco I’ve ever had in my life. I couldn’t eat it. Told the waitress- they did absolutely nothing to correct the issue. I won’t be back. However. You can judge for yourself. Oh I did like my cheese enchiladas.
The food is always good and the employees are very friendly and helpful. We love going there.
We went on recommendation and it's quite the Tex Mex. I got the Chimichanga and the chicken with cheese topping is great. My wife loved the chile relleno which was great as well.
The nicest people in the world are here. I felt so warm and welcomed and loved, and I was dining by myself that day, which I don’t like to do, but I couldn’t have picked a better place to do it. besides a friendly atmosphere, which I really appreciated, the prices are great. The food is excellent. And I love how they give you the little bold pour the salsa into which their chips and who made salsa or homemade chips and salsa ha ha we’re both so good. i definitely recommend this place. forgot to mention that I had a margarita and it was so so good and I’m really tough on margaritas, but it was excellent and the price was out of this world not outrageous like you usually find these days.
Love this place been going for years! I used to play here when it was a McDonalds! Very Nice staff and it's all about the chips and salsa. Food is always Great, fajitas are the best and you always get way more than you can eat. And for the people posting the left overs in a styrofoam box with dried up nachos we see you over there full of it. You can't take home nachos or order take out without them looking like that . It's freaking nachos go inside and eat them everyone should know that. Anyway everyone have a Great day!
I do not know how this place is still open. I don’t like this place, but my husband loves the burrito he gets at lunchtime (it’s ok). The chips are good & hot, but I add salt. The salsa is good. They bring it out in little barrel jars, & bring small bowls for to pour into. I asked for queso ($5.50) & this is what they brought: generic processed cheese with no flavor, so I mixed it with the salsa. Then I asked for one tamale-no chili sauce & I’m SO GLAD I did, otherwise I might not have noticed the dough was still uncooked. When I asked the server to return it & no, I did not want something else, thank you very much, she said she didn’t like their tamales either. I have tried their nachos, chicken enchiladas…I just don’t like the flavor or lack there of. Other than the beer & chips, I haven’t found anything I would finish.
They do offer patio seating: next to highway, no umbrellas, buffer for sound or sight, sparse & bare lacking any sort of ambiance. There are much better places for the same price.
Have you ever watched kitchen nightmares and thought "there's no way that place is real" well after having lunch here today I think otherwise. •The food is ok compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area but beyond mediocre with the overpriced items in the menu
•The atmosphere was dead during lunch and the place looks like it's falling apart
•The only redeeming feature was the service, our waiter, Jeff, went above and beyond to take care of my party and I through lunch.
•In conclusion, I would avoid this place completely if good Mexican food is what you're looking for. There are other places in the area that serve real authentic Mexican food with much better prices and a cleaner experience.
