The ambience was quiet and formal. The one call is that the server does not know how to speak English.
Drove 3 hrs for my Dad to have an authentic Chinese food — Arco Seafood is our first stop and it didn’t disappoint — mapo tofu, fried noodles, lotus root, steamed fish with black beans.
The menu is not varied, just basic dimsum selection but taste really good, not oily, and light. The smell of soy sauce is not too strong as most restaurants do (for instance the chicken feet is so tasty and not salty at all). Families, even, old people eat here, so it should be legit.
Their family style dishes were nut allergy friendly!
A very family style restaurant, I went with a group of 11 people for a holiday dinner. They have a curated "prix fixe" menu for the holidays that consists of a 9 course meal. There are some private tables in the back that fit around 10-12 people.
All of the food was pretty good. I would say the highlights are the Peking Duck, the Lobster, and the Yee Mein w/ Abalone. We didn't get any white rice or water on the table, but I think someone could have asked. The tea with the meal was very smooth and flavorful as well.
Overall a lovely place for their family style meal if you can get the private room.
Absolutely one of the best Asian restaurants I've eaten food from. There are two menus one with photos and one without. I'm not fluent in any Asian language so I'd recommend asking for the photo menu. That being said I asked a staff member tins of questions and took his recommendations. The food here is amazing. Everything we ate was cooked so perfectly and seasoned just right. We tried quite a few dishes because everything sounded so good. I highly suggest peppered beef and basil chicken. Not only is the food terrific but so is the service. The staff members were all so kind, helpful, and quick to assist us either by refilling our glasses or removing empty plates, we never really had to ask for anything because they asked us first.
My first time visit was good. Although I was not really hungry but I liked the food and the ambience. However I can’t say the same about the service. Servers need to be trained in hospitality.
I'm not Chinese, so judge me expertise accordingly. This is the best Chinese food I have had in Houston. I have not been to every Chinese restaurant. Food is so fresh vegetables and fried stuff just tasted so good and so fresh. Can't really explain but felt healthy and good after eating too many things and dishes. I usually don't after Chinese food.
We have been to this restaurant twice. Both times we came because our non-Chinese friends indicate that this is their preferred Chinese food restaurant. The food, atmosphere and service are just ok or barely acceptable. But the food is overpriced with small size. The tables and chairs could use some updating.
