Best WLM Reviews
Very nice place with clean rooms and polite staff ready to help and make sure that you have what you need. The room has good bedding and linens and fridge. The pool is clean and a nice size (shaped like a fish!). They make an effort to provide a good experience. It’s nicely situated near Mystic without the higher prices.
It was clean and newly done up. Unfortunately the furniture has not all been replaced so we had a very saggy mattress. Don't forget to ask at reception if you require a hairdryer. There is no hairdryer in the room.
We had a room with a king sized bed. There was a coffee pot, microwave, and a fridge with a separate freezer space. Very nicely updated - maybe this was done since some of the less enthusiastic reviews? I was able to get a cot for one night ($25) because we were dropping my son off at college. Staff was pleasant and the room was nice. My only detractor was the wi-fi made it hard for me to do school work, but I was able to use my phone as a hotspot. (I have Verizon and this could be an issue with their service, not the Inn's wi-fi.) The grounds were very clean, pool looked lovely ( I didn't swim) and grounds well kept. Even when it was full the last night, it was quiet and a nice place to stay.
The absolutely rudest, meanest woman on the face of the earth manages/owns this establishment.
I first observed her while I was checking in. Thank goodness her daughter has people skills, because she was actually pleasant while the MEAN LADY just glared at me from the background. She's the type of motel manager who looks at every customer like a massive inconvenience, and wishes that you weren't there. Then why have you gone into the service industry?! Every time I saw her on the property, she would just glare and look at me like she wished I was dead. How welcoming! Then, we finally had our showdown On the motel property is a picnic area, which I presume is for the clientele of this motel to use. On one of the picnic coverings was an electrical outlet. How nice! A paying customer such as myself could plug in perhaps a radio, or some other electronic device! So I decided to plug in my electric car. Then she came SPRINTING over and yelling at me. "You're not allowed to do that! That's against our policy!" I politely asked her to show me the motel's policy, or any posted signs anywhere that prohibited me from plugging my car into a publicly offered outlet where I am currently paying to stay. Then she openly admitted that no such policy exists, but I "have to ask." She said it was rude to enter HER house and plug in my car. She asked me if I would allow her to do the same thing at my house. First, I gladly extended an invitation to her-- she is allowed to charge her car at my house anytime! Free of charge! Secondly, this comparison is a FALSE EQUIVALENCY. I am PAYING her thousands of dollars to stay at this location. I did not just show up at her house and plug in my car She made several more threats about sending me an additional bill (which she would have absolutely NO grounds for whatsoever) and called me rude and obnoxious, but eventually she just slinked away, muttering under her breath. Ultimately, I am not mad or frustrated by this woman. I feel sorry for her. First of all, she clearly hates her job and her life choices, and she takes that frustration out on her paying customers. Secondly, I feel sorry for this woman because she is so far behind where society is moving. Each year she will see more and more guests with electric cars. Is she just going to constantly yell and scream at all of them, like Don Quixote yelling at windmills? Or she could be forward-thinking and adapt. In fact, providing charging stations for electric cars could be a SELLING point for this establishment. Instead, this mean old fossil is just going to bury her head in the sand, and then wonder why her business has dried up. I wish her all the best of luck (because she's going to need it!), but she is literally the WORST manager/owner I have ever seen in my 46 years of traveling this beautiful country.
Reasonable place to stay, not far from the shore. Clean, no odors, no issues. Furniture is used but serves its purpose. Everything you might need, except a hairdryer and ice, suggest you come prepared. Updated bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker in room. Outdoor pool, cute water feature...well cared for older property. Would stay here again.
Keep hearing banging the past few nights I’ve been here no clue what it is got woken up by it twice .other then that the room is very sanitary and cozy have ac and heat .only complaint I have is the banging it sounds like someone from next door but don’t even think anyone is even over there? Very weird and scary.but constant banging threw out the night .everything else is cozy and comfy got free WiFi and good cable .
One positive - the room was clean and attractive. Looked much better than a typical budget motel. And 3 miles from beautiful beaches, 200 plus per night is a budget place. Biggest problem - the hardest mattresses we ever slept on. We needed to get our own foam layer to be able to sleep. This will keep me away in the future. Housekeeping was terrible. We had to ask to replace towels and shampoo, and then they did not always get it right. Lastly, the room did smell but leaving windows opened when we were away helped. If you are young and can sleep on hard beds, this is an okay option. Otherwise come equipped with air mattresses or look elsewhere.
Great escape , the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are clean and look great. I love the fact there's actual hot water. The house keeper is a sweetheart. I wish the price could go down a little bit more but other than that I'll be back !! Haha
