Last time here was with the love of my life. This time without her for business only. Must say I got sick away from the Hotel and got dehydrated. Called security, and they made sure I got checked out, and did it all with a smile. GREAT SECURITY CREW! Not just saying that, they really were friendly, non-invasive, and helpful.
This has become one of our favorite places to relax and have fun! The rooms are older and have some flaws, but they are easy to overlook. The staff here is exceptional, and they make up for some worn carpet and slow drains. We had a leaking window during a torrential downpour on our most recent visit, and they moved us to a huge suite for two nights. The views up and down the Colorado River are amazing through a whole wall of windows.||The friendly staff extend into the casino and house restaurant. Every single staff member we have interacted with has been friendly and helpful. Another aspect we have enjoyed here is the free live entertainment in the bar most weekends. It's always different, and it's always been good.||As far as restaurants, it's way too convenient having a 24-Hour McDonald's in the building. Subway next door is also open late, and it was good when we tried it. Unfortunately, Outback Steakhouse is hit-or-miss, and always busy and salty (take that either way). Surprisingly, we've had better food at the Cafe Aquarius, which is less expensive and more low-key. Haven't tried the pizza place, but it looks expensive; and haven't yet tried Pick-Up Sticks or Duet - maybe next time.||We are novice gamblers, and the vibe of the casino here is more fun and less serious than others we've visited. There are lots of penny slots on new machines; but my favorite is the Big 6 wheel, where you can also play automated roulette. Finally, don't miss bingo next door at their sister property, Edgewater. They are patient with newbies at check-in.||I rarely give a five star review, especially to a place that's in less-than-pristine condition; but there's something magical about the retro-90s vibe mixed with the incredible staff that makes this place hum!
Spent 4 nights at the Aquarius recently. Rooms are a good size and the room was surprisingly quiet (compared to other hotels that we've stayed on the strip). I'd give the whole stay 5 stars except we found the service at the Outback and the Aquarius Cafe lacking (except for Frankie at the Cafe, she was awesome!). In both cases servers did not check on our drinks and, during breakfast at the Cafe, our server was actually rude and she didn't respond to questions we had or refill our coffee. But one person didn't ruin our fun.
We'll be back and just ask for Frankie at the Cafe. ????
OK so check in process was speedy thanks to MEGAN, she was very nice in accommodating my party as we had booked two smoking rooms and only one was available at the time, later on that evening after checking every hour on the hour per Megan's advice we got a smoking room, king bed. We did not have a sewage smell at all in our room or on the floor we were on 14th floor to be exact. Room was clean, expect bedsheet had a really old grey stain on it upon pulling the sheets back, it had been a long day and I didn't want to deal with it because SPOILER ALERT -( I bring my own sheets and pillow cases anyway - SUPER OCD) especially when staying at older hotels. I wanted to take a nice hot shower after a long travel day, turned it on and everything was going great until all of a sudden it just got ice cold at this point I was pissed called front desk and was moved to a new room immediately. The rest of the trip ran smooth, won a lot on blackjack and @ slot machines. Ate at the 24 hour mc Donald's late night and dined at other casinos for lunch and breakfast. I will say drinks were so watered down it was like you couldn't taste the alcohol at all, one waitress on the 1am shift came by took me and two other ladies drink order and then went to go pet a dog for 10 minutes, then came back and said I'm sorry what did yall order again, did not wash her hands or anything and then served us our drinks. Pool area was amazing and clean, they have adult hours from 9pm-11pm so that was quite nice as well. All in all go and check it out for yourself. ||My parents love this casino so regardless to the what happened the first night we will be back.
We really like Aquarius, and it's become our go-to place to stay when in Laughlin. Over all it's my favorite casino to play in town, and where I've had the best luck on slots. The rooms are nice and clean. We get the basic room, so nothing too fancy. Bonus points for having mini fridges in the rooms though. Room prices are great too. Far cheaper than even a motel 6 would cost now days. Would definitely recommend this place.
The Aquarius has continued to decline since Covid. The Duet coffee shop closes early and no longer has a large selection of fresh desserts and pastries. The employees are very nice and friendly. The rooms needed to be updated and I was on a non smoking floor but has a strong smell of marijuana coming in my vents.
While I liked the check in staff, (very friendly and helpful) that's where the good service ended. Each restaurant in this hotel, is staffed with contemptuous and apathetic employees. I had to leave the hotel to go eat some place else because the lack of service and care, was outrageous. They need an overhaul, because nobody wants to work evidently, just collect a paycheck.
Rooms are in need of updates. Lady at check in took 40 minutes to do a basic check in. Literally standing there 40 minutes as she tried to figure out basic functions. Casino was comfortable but could use updates. River Rick's pizzeria was excellent. View from the room was great. Wasn't a busy day so that was a plus. I'd give it another shot. My only real disappointment was the customer service at check in.
