Came here for dinner, not realizing that they had a happy hour going on so after looking at the happy hour menu, we decided to just get a bunch of heavy appetizers and wow, they did not disappoint a great price great quality food. The ambience was good and the drinks were equally as delicious, the cinnamon toast crunch martini was to die for and all the food we had was amazing we even opted for a piece of their Keylime pie yummy!
Great place. Glad we decided to go inside. The atmosphere was excellent. Love the decor! We sat at the bar and it was happy hour. Bonus for us. The bartender Mike was excellent. Food was great. Definitely would come back.
We went for happy hour and had excellent food and drinks! Our server was great as well. Hubs decided to start with calamari. It was lightly breaded and not overcooked, and the marina sauce was very good. I ordered the shrimp & broccolini small plate and was very pleased with this dish. It was tasty and perfectly prepared. I also ordered shrimp & pasta dish, and it was a large portion. I ended up taking it home for later. Hubs ordered a slider and fries. He was very happy with his selection.
Food wasn’t warm, calamari was rubbery, sodas were flat, alcohol boxes in hallway, this place is more for drinks than it is food. Tables were empty around dinner time, bars were full.
Live music which was nice , they were able to find us a table fairly quick. The waiter was good and did his best but the restaurant/kitchen was slow, out of bread and out of oyster even though it was not prime time yet. So it was disappointing.
Today, we chose Aqua on Fifth to celebrate my mother’s birthday, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a highly disappointing experience. This was our first visit to Aqua, and we decided to try their happy hour, opting to sit outside.
We started with drinks—a Lemon Drop, Margarita, and a beer—which were all enjoyable. For appetizers, we ordered calamari, risotto, bruschetta, and a mahi dip. However, instead of the mahi dip, we were mistakenly served a hummus dip. While we understood this was a minor oversight from the kitchen, it wasn’t a big deal to us.
Our server, James, provided excellent service throughout the evening. However, the manager, Nancy, was the highlight for all the wrong reasons. After receiving our appetizers, I informed James that the risotto was not to our liking and politely asked to exchange it for calamari. He handled the request seamlessly.
Shortly after, Nancy approached our table and, noticing the untouched dip, remarked, “Wow, you guys don’t like anything!” This comment caught us off guard, as it was both unprofessional and unnecessary. What’s more, we later realized the dip we had received wasn’t even the mahi dip but the incorrect hummus dip.
Nancy’s dismissive and rude behavior completely overshadowed what should have been a celebratory evening. Despite the poor experience, our bill came to $116, and we tipped generously, bringing the total to $156.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of professionalism and the way we were treated, we will not be returning to Aqua & you shouldn’t either.
Had an event on Saturday. My guests were impressed with the service and quality of the food. Live entertainment by Joey was amazing. Nancy and Gordon put this together and my girlfriend was thrilled. I have had several events at Aqua and have never been disappointed. The staff is amazing!
The food is amazing! The owner comes around and talks to everyone and/or seats them himself. An enormous bar is centrally located and live music (and dancing) begins at 8pm. The bread and dipping oil is outstanding. The shrimp cocktail accidentally was knocked over on the table, which was still perfectly fine to eat, but the server still brought another out even when he was told it wasn't necessary. That is definitely wonderful service!
