Well lets get the good out of the way, the food was very good for all five of us, when we finally got seated. The bad, the add on my phone all you can eat 15.99 was apparently a lie, even though it comes up of you google it. Terrible marketing, would have gone to Firebirds if I knew were were spending 150 bucks. The hostess was non existent for the first twenty minutes we stood there. Then we took the booth for our party and got a server who was nice and warned us she had just gotten a large birthday party, and to let us know if we were needing anything. 20 minutes to get the first round after we ordered. sigh....Another server who had just gotten there tried and eventually took over our table, this one was on point. The food another twenty minutes, if you're adding this up were a hour in and they were clearly understaffed for a Saturday night. Got our food thanks to our new server who was not dedicated to the birthday party, so we managed to get another round of drinks in a timely fashion. The server tried to get us a free something or discount due to the situation that had unfolded (which was not necessary but grateful she tried.) However, the manager would do nothing, so her is my take away. Thank you paid staff for busting your butts for everybody regardless of your leadership, you did well. Kitchen kudos on the meals, presentation and taste. Manager, if you worked in my restaurant, you would now be searching for a job. Corporate you need to put into practice customer first. I will continue to enjoy the menu only at a different location. Oak Ridge it is next time.
Prefacing this with, it's an Applebee's and everything was well within expectations of their chain of restaurants. The servers were warm and friendly but were stretched thin to deal with the large number of guests. Between this and delays in the kitchen this ended up being a longer than expected visit but we did get our drinks tho one person had to way an exceptionally long time for their beverage. The food arrived hot to the table and were well received. The other guests that got chicken dishes seemed to like their food, I thought the sirloin was a bit bland but it was tender and cooked to mid rare as requested. Overall a good experience, thank you to all the staff there.
My order was curbside. Excellent waitress Excellent food!! I'm usually a Bourbon chicken girl but I tried the honey glazed chicken with Waffle fries ???? Dang!!!! Absolutely fantastic ????
We have been stopping in on Sundays for lunch. The hostess seated us in JessicaD's section. She is the best server we've ever had. Anyone who hustles like her needs a raise. She anticipates our needs before we ask.
Our food was great all around. It arrived quickly and our glasses stayed full. We had ribs, fiesta lime chicken and an oriental salad. I asked Jessica to make sure my fries were crisp. She had them redone before bringing them out. They were perfect.
We had a large group, 10 people. We were lucky enough to be seated right away the waiter was a nice young man. He got all of our drinks and food correct. The dinners all seemed to be great. We ordered a variety of plates off the menu. From salmon to ribs, steak and chicken with shrimp. Our table also had burgers and more I never heard a complaint about the food. Service was very good and the restaurant was busy because of a college football game. We would definitely like to come back for more family dinners. We let the waiter know this was a birthday dinner, so a group of workers sang happy birthday! It was so much fun....... Where we were seated was at a higher level. There was a ramp to get to that level. Very good for our visit. A member of our dinner party uses a walker so having the wheelchair ramp was great!
Walked in host gave attitude like she hates her job and how dare we come into eat. Waitress was an Old Karen took our drink order asked for lime. Received lemons asked again for limes was told okay then she just waited on the the couple only in front of us. Once my wife came back to the table from using the restroom we left. If you are going to give me attitude walking in and refuse to give descent service bye you don't get a dime from me I hope the kitchens eats the food and you get fired. Because I will not be back
Wife and I are staying across the street from Applebee's and decided to have dinner over there. Our waiter Tanner was great!!, Food was very good. I had Bourbon St chicken & shrimp, wife had the strawberry, grilled chicken salad. Drinks wife had unsweet and a tito's and I had a $5 margarita that was a lot better than some places high end drink...place was packed at dinner time.
Friday night, room is packed and still sat down right away. Plenty of wait staff, appetizer timely and food followed 15-20 minutes later. My tea glass never went empty, it was great service probably the best of any Applebee's my wife and I have been to. Her steak was perfect and my wrap was good as well. We were just impressed with the entire operating process of a small area Applebee's on a busy Friday night. If your on 75 in the Athens area deciding where to eat, don't immediately pick cracker barrel because of service issues or food issues at another Applebee's give these folks a try.
