Bourbon shrimp and chicken was disgusting. So much oil it looked like soup. I had to pat down chicken from so much oil. The waitress looked right at me 2 times trying to eat chicken from napkin didn't even offer plate. Understand server's are short but service TERRIBLE
Update: Applebees GM got in touch & offered a meal at a different location. We had lunch at west Kimberly and Michelle was great. Was the only waitress and the hostess and was very attentive. I feel good about the effort the company made to make up for the bad experience. Thank you all for showing us Iowa Nice!
Previous 1 star: Service was not good. I understand she stated she was understaffed but I’m still a paying customer who didn’t even want to finish my water because I was scared I would never get a refill. I had to grab my own a1 from the bar and all in all was just not a good experience wish we would have taken our money else where. I felt like I was at a fast food place.
6 servers sitting, eating, socializing and not worried about the customers whatsoever. Decided to sit myself @ the bar had an awkward experience with bartender Tabitha M. She was apart of the group that was sitting down, she seems like she showed up to work with the intentions to not server food or make drinks. And she gave our food to us in To go boxes when we were clearly there to eat in and have some drinks.
Food was great but I can’t say the same about the service. Came here last night around 6/7ish with my girlfriend and the first thing the host said (who was also our waitress)was “how many for you ladies today?” I found that kind of annoying bc I’m a guy I just have longer hair. But I feel like she did it to be malicious which was weird and she did it throughout the entire visit. I didn’t even get a chance to correct her bc she only checked on us a total of twice and was not kind when she did and would walk away very quickly. My girlfriend asked for ranch for our appetizer and the server went and stood in the corner talking to other servers (it looked like a manager was over there too, the restaurant had a total of two tables in it ) for about 10 mins before she walked back to a different table and I tried to get her attention to which she straight up ignored me. She eventually came back and said she “forgot” the ranch . The food was good at least but her attitude and service was horrible, and that’s coming from someone who works in food service. This girl did not like us at all and she let us know it! If you can’t handle being kind or mature to people when they have done nothing wrong, then don’t work in the service industry. I like coming here so I hope I don’t get her as a server again, probably just going to stick to the moline one.
Honestly very disappointed. Started off on the wrong foot when the restaurant was only 1/4 full and they said it would be a 15 minute wait. Now I understand labor shortages, so not a big deal. We got seated and ordered food. Other than our food being delivered, we never really got service again. Our drinks never even got a refill.
We ordered the sweet & spicy chicken sandwich and the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. The chicken on both orders was extremely tough, dry, and a little burnt. The shrimp were not thoroughly cooked either.
As mentioned we were very disappointed with the entire visit.
The food and service at this Applebee’s was good, but nothing spectacular - but it was also fairly inexpensive. You get what you would expect from a typical chain restaurant at this place. The dining area was clean, and the restrooms were pretty clean, too.
Honestly my review is so low because my waitress forgot my appetizer twice. Hell didn't get drinks until our food arrived. Honestly felt our waitress had something against us. Go to moline for better service.
My experience overall was good just wish the cook would have gotten my order right
