I dont know when Applebees became the family go to on both sides! but here we are 2x in a weekend for a Birthday and Fathers Day New Hartford and Rome! I am not an avid alcohol drinker but I will say The newly added Magarita Flight was greatly appreciated and actually quite delicious!
Ordered the chicken tender platter with bbq and extra fries. Basically got less than the basic of fries and no sauces. Even went in to ASK for extra sauce and an employee belched loudly infront of me. And the employee that handed me my order swore because the bag was ripping? (Picture is after we had to reheat in the air fryer because it was cold)
When clearing our plates, the server noticed I didn't eat the steak and offered me a to-go-box. I declined, so she asked me if everything was alright. I admitted that although I order that dish quite often, this time the steak tasted like it was grilled differently, almost ashy. It was gross, despite it being smothered in a cheesy sauce and shrimp. I guess she told them in back and they had her take $5 off my meal. That was nice. They appreciated me being honest.
I don’t often do reviews. But this was definitely an off night. Very slow service. Watched many get up and leave instead of waiting to put an order in. Food (chicken wings) were undercooked and slimy. We ended up flagging down a waitress from another section to get our bill when our waitress never came back. Then waited another half hour to get our card back. Hey we all have off nights but this seemed like more than that. The place was empty and disgusting. The men’s bathroom has a sewage smell. This will be the last time we step foot in this place.
45 minutes for our supper to be delivered. Fries were not hot, but not cold. Service was slow and no check back after food was delivered. Was putting people on a wait list while tables were empty. Loosing lots of customers that way.
I go to applebees atleast once a week. This past week my waitress was Desarae A, she was wonderful!! People like her keeps me coming back. It's my birthday next week. And she just really made my day, told me I reminded her of her daughter, and to celebrate my birthday every day ????
Took my nephew for lunch today. Had the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. Nephew had endless boneless wings and fries. Both meals were good,service a bit shoddy but nothing to go mental over. Forgot silverware, slow drink service nothing to write home about but had a good time making chopsticks out of straws etc while we waited! Overall good.
Party of 3, waited only a couple minutes to be seated, but we were not addressed by a server for 15 minutes. During this 15 min period, we heard our server at another table apologizing to folks that had their food but no drinks, server said “oh yea, I forgot your drinks didn’t I?” She stopped at us after that, we told her we would give her the whole order to save her a trip, so app first, mozz stx & spin dip, she came back with drinks 5 minutes later, water and milk. Waited 15 minutes more and watched her put our apps on another table, then leave, she went back to the other table-guys says “we didn’t order this.” She grabs our food, goes to kitchen. We are noticing this server ends up out of sight most of the time we are there, she has us and two other tables. (People next to us have their empty soup bowls that have been sitting next to them this entire time and they don’t look happy.) 5 minutes later our apps come, spin dip crusted over due to sitting a while, mozz stx warm, not hot, one share plate and no silverware . Smh. Food arrived looking good, tasted good too- but almost 40 minutes to get chicken sandwich, tenders & impossible burger. When we asked for box and check, noticed another table had sat and they got food and had no drinks, we heard our server say once more” oh I forgot your drinks didn’t I?!” When our check arrived, server did not even address us she threw it on the one empty share plate sitting there that we didn’t bother to use- and was yelling across the room to someone. Not a good experience for me and my family. I’ve worked in the service industry most of my life, everyone has a bad day, but this was not an average “ bad day”, seemed like lack of character, integrity, and training. Last trip to this restaurant.
